I've never seen this movie.  But if all I had to judge it on was this CD, I'd give it two thumbs and a toe up.  The first track "Heisoku no Kakudai" I have fondly named "The Landshark Song".  It very much sounds like Jaws music, because the piano melody is played on the lower keys.  "Manatsu no Shuen" starts out the same way.  Then it has a "Psycho" riff in it.  The next track, "Shinkou e no Kinkyuhinan" is some really awesome choral music.  It's acapella.  It's very haunting.  Then in the middle, they start singing this really awesome hymn- yes, that's right, an awesome hymn.  Then there is some more uplifiting choir music complete with timpany in "Itsuwari no Saisei".  It reminds me of music from music about Roman gladiators.  A direct contrast is the next piece, "Migawari no Shinyu", one of the best pieces of anime BMG ever.  It starts out being piano with bass in the background.  Then the piano begins playing a different tune, and there's a regular quitar that slowly comes over it.  It's just very forlorn-sounding.  "II Air" is a piece that should sound familiar, because it's a famous classical music piece.  I really used to like this kind of music, like, in first grade, but I don't really anymore.  It's nice though.  "Mukashiki Nagare" is an ominous sounding piece that builds suspense gradually.  The instruments get louder as the piece goes on, and new ones are added all the time.  Then a piano playing on the higher keys comes in and it gets really sad.  Then the sad melody the piano was playing is repeated on the strings.  After that it keeps alternating between the strings and the piano, and then it has a big finish.  "Thanatos~If I Can't Be Yours~" is a jazz song.  It's really sad, and everyone I know likes it, even my English class, whose taste in music is suspect.  The singer is very talented.  There really isn't much else to say about it.  The next piece, "Hajimari e no Touhi" begins with an orchestra warming up and then it has the haunting choral music in it.  The difference is that some instruments start to come in.  Then the choir is cut off for a violin solo, and then they start to sing.  I liked the choir without the instruments, but maybe that's just me.  "Huan to Mitsygetsu", the next piece, is an urgent sounding, fast duet between a violin and a piano.  It's okay, nothing really all that special.  Then we come to my all-time favorite song EVER ,"Komm, Suesser Tod".  It's a very, very sad song.  Words cannot describe its ultimate coolness.  It's so beautiful... okay, enough of that.  The one & only problem is that it's almost 8 minutes long because it has possibly the longest outro of any song ever, complete with a choir that's actually pretty cool.  "Jesus bleibet meine Freunde" is another classical piece that's mostly piano.  It's not particularly interesting unless you're a fan of classical music.  "Heisoku no Kakudai" is a violin piece that's pretty sad sounding.  It sounds like Sailormoon BMG.  "Yume no Sukima", the final track, is a piece played on the higher keys of a piano.  It sounds a lot like "Mukashiki Nagare".  This CD is excellent, I'd reccomend it to anyone.
