Alone With Isaac

To my suprise, Taylor wasn't actually that upset. I didn't exactly tell him why i was going though...Because I knew it was bad to leave on an argument.

The day of my departure rolled around. Taylor couldn't go with me to the Airport, so after a very emotional goodbye, Ike put my stuff in his new Bug and headed for Tulsa International.

"Well, Lindsay. It's going to be so weird here with out you. I can't believe how well Taylor took it."

"To tell you the truth, Ike, I don't think he's being genuine. I think he thinks he has to live up to his masculine side."

"Well, whatever it is, I hope you two dont have a whole I'm-gonna-kill- my-self-if-you-don't-come-back fiasco again, that was not fun."

I laughed, and then realized what he had just said. What?! "Isaac! How did you know about that?"

His Jaw dropped. "Uh oh. I don't think I was supposed to know that."

I looked at him hard.

"How did you find out?!" I demanded.

"Tay was too sick to even mail the letter, he barely had the strength to write it. He asked me to put it in an envelope for him, and I caught the words Kill my self in it...I'm sorry Linds, I shouldn't have read it."

"Well, I supposed you would figure it out anyway."

We pulled up to the airport. Isaac took my bags and helped me check them in. He walked me to the terminal, and waited until it was time for me to board.

"Attention in the terminal. Passengers taking flight 4562 to L.A.X., you are now boarding." The voice over the loud speaker came on.

I sighed. "Well, I got to go now. Thanks so much for waiting with me here, you made it a whole lot easier for me, Ike."

He looked at me with concerned eyes. We got up and he stood at the edge of the long, narrow walk way I was about to get on.

I felt the tears in my eyes.

"Now, I can see whats coming next. Don't you cry now Lindsay, don't you cry." Isaac said in a calming voice.

I held them back and breathed. I wrapped my arms around him and he embraced me tightly in a hug. My chin rested on his shoulder and I felt the tears starting to flow. "Bye Isaac. I'll miss you." I said through choppy breaths.

"I'll miss you too Lindsay." He kept holding me.

"Take care of that brother of yours for me, will you?"

"Yeah."

I broke our embrace. "Tell Jenny something for me?"

"Anything."

"Tell her I really like her and she needs to come back out here with you."

I smiled with relief. He really didn't love me anymore. I squeezed his hand. "No problem."

"Lindsay, this is from me." He handed me a small box with wrapping paper on it. "And this is from Taylor." He handed me a piece of paper.

I nodded.

"Don't open it until you have taken off, alright?"

"Ok."

I hugged him one more time and with out a word, started up the terminal.

I could feel Isaac standing there, watching me depart. I slowly turned my head. He was still standing there.

I smiled a warm smile at him, and he grinned. Then I turned around and walked away.
