IN THE WIND MILL !
The foot of the Eastern Mountain that looks over old Cairo was the place chosen by GOD for Fr. Mina El Baramousy
to continue the life of loneliness he started in Wadi El Natroun . He lived there in a wind mill that had no roof and no door . Vermins and reptiles shared his company , where he slept on sand and pebbles like Jacob when he escaped from evil . The place was surrounded by wilderness , silence and darkness .
Even after making a roof and a door for the mill , nobody ever dared to live there alone , as he would be threatened by several dangers . How did Fr. Mina manage to live there for years ? God was with him , offering him protection and guidance . Vermins never opened a mouth and wild animals became tamed . God granted him peace .
There in no doubt that while the monk , Fr. Mina the Solitary ( Pope Kyrillos VI ) was in the mill , he witnessed great divine mysteries , no wonder that he was always ( even after he became Patriarch ) longing for the days he lived in the mill and always used to say :
" NEVER LIKE A DAY IN THE MILL !! " .
