(Matthew 2:10)

The joy of the Wise Men is understandable.

It is unfortunate that the Union movement within the area of Local Government in New South Wales is bereft of men of this calibre. We include women in our castigation , the "MAN" , being the generic mankind as in all humanity.

Gods` gift  of Christ to our world is beyond our comprehension , and we can hear the pooh pooh and pooh ha`s from those that claim no belief other than their own feeble ability or more probably inability. Unfortunately within Local Government Unions there a few that believe they are Gods unto themselves , and worse still , unto others. Have we have forgotten that the whole foundation of our ethos of  a "Fair Go" , is based on the teachings of Christ?.

We believe that if he were here today he would , like ourselves , cast out these hypocrites from the Union Movement , as swiftly and  with as much passion as he threw the money lenders from the temple. He would have refused the crumbs from the oppressors table as quickly as he spurned the Devils temptations. This man was no wimp , he was one who stood up for the common man , one who spoke out for the oppressed , one who contradicted those that had assumed power over their fellow man.

Why can we all not attempt to follow this example?

The embryo of Australian Labor Party , and the Australian Trade Union movement was the teaching of Christ , it was through the efforts of radical church leaders , in particular the Irish Catholics , that the motivation was given to men of Vision. What we have today are the  , toadies of the economic rationalists leading the oppressed worker into bondage and economic slavery.

The only members of the community not to be spellbound by this mantra chanted by the Judas sheep of society , are those with strong spiritual beliefs , and we include all religious beliefs in this statement , for we all have the one home , and it is only by different paths we journey there.

Of course Christmas is always a joyful time for Christians , a time in which we can reflect with thankfulness to God for all his gifts. One of which was freedom.

We need not be a slave to any man , for we were all given dominion over this planet , to serve one another , and  as such , all are equal .

Why then resign yourself to the serfdom of a Union whose only purpose is it own self perpetuation , and the provision of sustenance to those who aspire to be not your equal but your superior. These Union fees are nothing more than a "Tribute " or "Tax" , to those with whom you have endowed with power over you , this is akin to chaining yourself in a prison cell. Break these chains and set yourself free from the intimidation of the bullyboys/girls in the Union movement.

We should use every New Year as a symbol of a new beginning , but this year is special. Across the world, Christians and non-Christians will be united in marking the dawn of a new millennium. There will be global celebrations which acknowledge in a symbolic way the indelible mark which Jesus has made on history, and I hope there will be much rejoicing!

Peoples from all lands are now coming together in realization that we are all one , and Corporations and Multi-nationals are the contemporary Barons and War Lords , their power being validated by the Governments we elect to represent our interests. Take notice of the slow resurrection of the Human Spirit , in Seattle when the people revolted against those that desire to oppress. If we continue to resist these oppressors they will , at best capitulate to the people , and at worst amend their agendas to a more humanitarian solution to our increasing Global Problems.

What we must now do , is embrace the new socialism of New Labor , but we must also care for those who are unable , not unwilling to care for themselves. To achieve this we must set aside a part of the community assets exclusively for this purpose. We must also ensure that Rural New South Wales does not die from financial starvation , this can be successfully  done through promotion of the resources of our exciting rural areas, and mutual obligation.

Not through welfare payments.

The resources so wonderfully utilized for financing the Olympics should be used to rebuild the Rural Infrastructure that has for decades be allowed to run down. A scheme larger than the Snowy River would not be an impossibility for a leader with vision.

Do we have this leader?

You are never asked to do more than you are able , without being given the strength and ability to do it.
