The constant loss of wages and conditions by Local Government Employees is much too consistent to be accidental!

"This must have been the plan of those that are intent on destroying any Rank and File participation"

Local Workplace Agreements completely detrimental to not only the members of the Union that signed off on them but to those employees who save themselves $300 per year by not paying this fee. A fee that some have described as subtle extortion.

Of course these actions by the enemies of the workers will ultimately fail. But what ravages and destruction will they impose on the average battler before they are exposed.

The White Collar workers in Local Government are much wiser than these hypocritical quislings think., and these highly qualified White Collar workers have been underestimated. There are now groups of Salaried Staff in many Metropolitan Councils, who have organized a method of implementing small Enterprise Unions. These autonomous groups will be able to pre-empt any sell off to gain miserly wage rises. Unfortunately those that are left behind will still be required to work under the archaic conditions negotiated by incompetent, uneducated and illiterate Union representatives. People, who have attained positions because of political affiliations.

These members have waken to the fact that their conditions and wages are restricted by, the lowest common denominator factor, and there is room for improvement, if only they remove the millstone from around their neck.

This Union like many others has had a monopoly on extracting money every week from employees in Local Government, but no more.

You are now free to choose not to contribute to the feather bedding of Union Officials and their cronies, you can now freely refuse to contribute to the Labor Party by proxy , you no longer need to submit yourself to the disdainful situation of serfdom in a Union.

You are free to make your own decision, it is your choice.

You have over recent months seen the activities on which this Union has spent your "Job Tax" (fees)albeit , sometimes given reluctantly.

You have read the newspapers with allegations of paid prostitutes, irregularities in the Superanuation , irregularities in Conference Expenses , the list is endless.

You will also be aware that , the recent Union Election is still being investigated by the Australian Federal Police ,with allegations of Officials interfering with ballot boxes.

What makes this more intriguing is that 20,000-ballot papers are still missing, that is, almost 75% of ballot papers are unaccounted for.

Members at Woolahra Council are still refusing to pay their fees until they have competent representation, they are adamant that they do not want the current Official representative involved in any way with them , this is a similar sequence of events that occurred at Randwick Council.

 

State Branches

The Newcastle Branch is now split in to several factions because of alleged cronyism and jobs for the boys,

The Jobs in question are the "Industrial Officer" and the "Manager".

Those long standing employees are up in arms about what they perceive to be paybacks for the recent election, the one where 20,000 ballot papers are still unaccounted.

The Southern Branch structure is in complete disarray, the Officials are at each others throats over the Managers` Position, there has been dramatic changes within the Branch political Structure, and it is being "encouraged" to withdraw from the "South Coast Labor Council".

There are those that professed support for certain parties, and it has now been revealed that this is not the case.

Secrets are difficult to keep if the appropriate interrogator is involved, or the options are explained to those with something to hide.

Competitive Tendering

There is also great dissent from country members who believe they have been sold out on the issue of funding for road maintenance and construction. The Clean up the Union team believe that this is already a fact, the numbers have been calculated and there are less than 1000 members involved in these councils.

Redundancy packages will be offered to those that cannot be trained, and the others will be offered training schemes, the successful tenderers will fund this.

Contractors

This is another area, which is already " FAIT ACCOMPLI "; a contractor award has been prepared and is waiting for implementation.

Awakening

You too can join these astute Salaried staff, all Local Government Employees can avail themselves of their own personal agreements, some members employed in councils with large numbers of staff could hire the best legal brains in the country for less than they pay this union.

Consider a Council with 500 staff at the current $5 perweek this is two thousand five hundred dollars per week.

How much legal advice can you obtain for even half that amount. Why are you paying these exorbitant fees to an Organization only interested in Self-Promotion and perpetuation?

Questions you must ask yourself?

Is it in my interests to maintain membership of this Union?

Or

Shall I resign immediately, regain my self-esteem and give myself a pay rise?
