St. Jude Thaddeus is pictured in the fifth window. He is the author of the
Epistle bearing his name and may have been the brother of James. Little is known about
him, but we are told that he and St. Simon worked together and were martyred together.
Hence they have the same day in the calendar (October 28). He is shown holding an inverted
cross (which is believed to be the manner of his death) and in the medallion we have a
figure of a small ship, his traditional symbol.
