THE UNIVERSE

Welcome to my second page! Above is a computer "painting" I made earlier this year! I named it "Universe" because that seemed to fit! I find it to be a VERY RELAXING image! Sort of like a mandala! Something nice to stare into and relax. As I slowly learn more and more about web pages I realize that I need to make lower quality jpgs to put on web pages because otherwise they take FOREVER to download! So, hopefully soon, I will replace this image with a lower quality -- faster loading one! :-) I am also beginning to realize that the hardest part of web pages for me -- is thinking of something to say!!!! I am really NOT a writer-type person! I prefer to say things with drawings or paintings. I wish I were good at story telling or poetry like so many of you are! A BIT ABOUT MYSELF 

     Well ...........  I love cats and I love to do all kinds of 
artwork!  I have drawn all of my life.  My favourite subjects to 
draw or paint are PEOPLE and ANIMALS!!!  I have never been very 
good at scenes!  (Although maybe all the wondderful things one can
 do with a computer will change that!)  I love drawing eyes!  They
say that eyes are the windows to the soul and I agree with that!
You can see sooo much about a person in their eyes.
     I also love to do beadwork!  Especially with wires.  Antique
glass beads of unusual design are my favourites!  I love to pick
a MAIN centre bead and design a necklace around it!  I don't have 
any photos of my bead art -- unfortunately!
     I am a weather-maniac!!!!  I LOVE the rain, snow, hail, thunder
and lightning!!!  If I'd had the mathmatical skills needed I'd've 
loved to have been a storm chaser!
     I also LOVE ASTRONOMY!  One of my all-time best experiences 
was going to Mazatlan on a 7 -day cruise -- to see the July 11,
1991 TOTAL eclipse of the sun!  This eclipse was one of the LONGEST
most of us will ever get a chance to see - lasting a full 7 minutes!
It was fascinating watching the penumbra shadow come our way -- 
and to see the twilight sky all around the horizon!  We saw stars and 
planets at NOON!  After the TOTALITY passed -- a whole herd?  pod?
school?  of Porpose (sp) joined us!  They seemed to be as excited
as WE were -- jumping high into the air!  There were hundreds of
them!  It was fantastic!
