Of local origin of the Barony of Leys. Held in ernest by the Burnetts of Leys until the marriage between John Farquharson of Invercauld and Isobell Burnett daughter of the late Sir Alexander Burnett of Craigmyle. With this marriage the lands of Craigmyle, which included much land in Leys was brought into Clan Farquharson.
