TRAVOLTA disco floor

Let's face it...you either loved it or hated it! Whatever your feelings about disco, the fact of the matter is, it ruled the airways for most of the 70's and early 80's. It influenced many performers and groups of the day. Hell, even the Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart were influenced by this music. Just listen to "Miss You" off of the Rolling Stones "Some Girls" album, or "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" on Rod Stewart's "Blonde's Have More Fun". Disco was everywhere!

It also influenced the film industry as well, with films such as "Car Wash", "Thank God It's Friday" and "Saturday Night Fever", just to name a few. And who can forget Studio 54, the famed nightclub in NYC that attracted many celebrities and changed the face of nightclubs forever (Oh how I wished I could be Brooke Shields and party with Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger). Disco also influenced fashion, with it's shiny polyester shirts and slinky dresses and high heels.

This page pays tribute to the music and the trends that disco created. I hope that you enjoy this page, whether you want to relive fond memories or laugh at the absurdity of it all.
