On his character, Pacey Witter: "Pacey's very abrasive on the surface, but I like to think in the end he's redeemable. I think he clings hard to Dawson because he's the only person Pacey can really hang out with and be who he wants to be."
Pacey's character-- Dawson's best friend. He is 'sarcastic and lust-filled'. He works at the local video store, and had a thing for his English teacher, Tamera. Things did not work out though. He is now the loving boyfriend of the new girl, Andie.
Joshua's acting career
Joshua Jackson who plays Pacey, has been in some movies before 'Dawson's Creek. The credits include: "The Mighty Ducks", "D2: The Mighty Ducks", and "Mighty Ducks 3".
Moving from the PG-Rated "Mighty Ducks" to teacher's love pet Pacey on "Dawson's Creek" helped improve Jackson's standing among friends back home in Vancouver, British Columbia. "I called the up and said 'Man, you'll never believe what I get to do on this show!'" he says. Actually, the 19-year old is the intellectual (he reads philosophy books in his spare time) and the old pro of the cast. At 9, he begged his mother, a casting director who worked on ABC's MacGyver, to send him to auditions; he soon landed a tourism commercial. His big break came at 13 when he was cast as Charlie, the coach's prodigy in "The Mighty Ducks"; two sequels followed. (Recently he appeared in "Scream 2" and has a part in the upcoming feature "Apt Pupil", based on a Stephen King story). "I was just an average kid in high school", says Jackson, who has a 14-year old sister (his parents are divorced). "Now I walk in a video store, and a 7-year old kid will come up to me and say 'Hey, it's Charlie!' Which is really nice, you know?"
