	President Carter was born 10/1/1924 in Plains, Georgia.
	He was elected President 11/2/1976 against President
        Gerald Ford in an extremely close race (297-240 electoral votes).
	His Vice President was Walter Mondale (born 1928 in Ceylon, Minnesota).
	He is married to Rosalyn Smith (born 1927 in Georgia).
	They have three sons and one daughter.
