My personal favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World is the week just before and after Thanksgiving.
The park is relatively quiet the week before Thanksgiving, with about a 5-10 minute wait for the park rides.
Also at this time, because it is a holiday, the parks will offer extended hours and attractions that they normally do not offer unless it is peak or holiday season.
For example: Special parades, fireworks, and events. Then after Thanksgiving, as if by magic, the parks, resorts, and just about everything is magically transformed into a Christmas Wonderland with holiday decor and music of every kind, just about everywhere you look!!!
Another thing to keep in mind is "Disney's Magical Holidays" (November 27- December 31).
In the Magic Kingdom you will find that the park offers something called "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party" during the beginning of December. This is an additional admission, but well worth it! The park is closed to all but those who purchase a special admission ticket. They serve hot chocolate and Christmas cookies throughout the park. With Special Christmas shows within the Magic Kingdom", which were absolutely fabulous!
They also offer a special addition of "Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks" and of course "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade! The wildest thing was when it actually started snowing on Main Street...it really made for the feel of Christmas in Florida!
In Epcot, "Holidays Around The World" is offered with a special edition of "Illuminations", "The Lights Of Winter", and lastly the "Candlelight Processional"
which is a choral concert that usually has a celebrity (when we seen it, it was Louis Gossett Jr.) who hosts and reads throughout the procession.
The procession is usually held in the back of World Showcase in the pavilion. The chorus forms into a human Christmas Tree singing traditional Christmas songs and hymns.
The show was one of the most wonderful things my family witnessed when we were there!!! If you are visiting W.D.W. during the Christmas season, DON'T MISS IT!!!
In Disney's M.G.M. Studios, you can enjoy the "Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights". This has got to be the BIGGEST DISPLAY OF CHRISTMAS LIGHTS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ONE PLACE IN ALL OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!
Lastly in The Contemporary resort, the "Jolly Holiday Dinner Show" is offered for even more seasonal celebration.
You are seated in this enormous room that must seat at least (I'm guessing) about 1,000+ people.
Stages are placed on every side of the room, so no one misses out on the ongoing show. TRUE DISNEY MAGIC!!! Everything is great except for the indescribable, poor quality, cold food, which is served family style and leaves much to be desired!!!!
Even thou the food is less than what you would hope for, the show itself is a MUST SEE SPECTACULAR!!!
