Welcome To Tai's Place!! Interested in a more current website for Ms. Tai? Please take a moment and visit Tai's Weight Loss Journey Well believe it or not, the day has come and gone!! I am officially a married woman and could not be happier!! Ken and I were married on October 14, 2000. The ceremony took place at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Gardens at Long Beach State. A gorgeous reception followed immediately afterwards. We had four lovely bridesmaids, four dashing groomsmen, a pretty little flowergirl, and one daper ring bearer. My father performed the ceremony - and NO, he is not a minister or a pastor - two weeks prior to the wedding, my father and I went to the Norwalk court house and had him deputized (Deputy Dad!!) - this gave my father the authority to perform the ceremony as Deputy Commissioner of Civil Marriages - and yes it is 100% LEGAL!!! If you are interested in more information, contact your County Registrar/Recorder/County Clerk. Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot of pictures scanned to share with you - but for now you will at least get somewhat of a visual of what our day was like!!! We went in style - a beautiful white Rolls Royce Limo!!! Our colors were eggplant and ivory. I walked down the "aisle" to the traditional wedding march done on the not so traditional guitar!!! (I heard later that our guitar player incorporated a little Zeppelin into the medly of music he played prior to the beginning of the ceremony - whooo hoooo!!) We recited semitraditonal vows rewritten to fit a more modern time - If you would like to view our Wedding Vows and Ceremony, just click on the link here or on the one at the bottom of the page. The reception was awesome!!! And better yet, the food was exceptional!!! We had a semi-"asian" theme - aside from getting married at the Japanese Gardens, we had Japanese lanterns for centerpieces surrounded by shiny garden rocks and beautiful purple orchids!! The buffet consisted of chinese chicken salad, a marinated veggie platter (that was to die for!!), lemon chicken and bbq tri-tip (that was delicious!!) - along w/ the staples of a meal - red potatos and the best rolls known to mankind!! The wedding favors were chinese take-out boxes decorated w/ various designs and Kanji symbols, and inside each box were two of the yummiest customized fortune cookies. Each fortune had our names and wedding date on one side along with 12 different quotes, ranging from Mae West, William Shakespear, Lao Tzu, and Abraham Lincoln. Aside from the wedding stuff, here is the same ol', same ol' stuff about me: I was born on August 17, 1968 (you do the math), am a full on LEO, hispanic, short, sweet and very married!! I was born San Jose, CA and grew up in Los Altos. I attended St. Francis High School (yeah, how 'bout those Lancers, eh?), went to Foothill College for three years (parents said either get a job and support yourself or go to a university), so off I went to Chico State and earned my BA in Telecommunications in 1992. Afterwhich, I moved down to Southern California and have been here ever since. I have been employed with Coastline Community College since October of 1992. In 2002, I began a new job with Coastline, working in Distance Learning . Thank for reading about me!! Until next time, Peace Out Party People.... ICQ #11897444
