Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
Mike Myers.
Well, I rented "Austin Powers" expecting a lot of laughs, and possibly some adventure, what I got was a 90 minute feature that was filled vulgar humor from beginning to the end. The film wasn't entirely vulgar, but there was plenty of vulgar humor in the film. Some parts are actually very humorous however, so it's definantly more enjoyable than it deserves to be. If you're looking for a film to break in the fast-forward button with, this film is it!
The film's story consists of Austin Powers, a swinger in the 60's trapped in the nineties after being frozen for thirty-years and thawed to fight his arch-enemy Dr. Evil. Dr. Evil had also been frozen and thawed to conquer the world. When Dr. Evil returns to his fellow-fiends, he suggests several plans that have already been done and this is one of the more enjoyable jokes in the film. Dr. Evil plans to steal nuclear warheads and hold the world hostage for... One Million Dollars!! After his associates explain to him how little money that is in the 90's he settles on : One Hundred Billion Dollars! Austin Powers must now stop this evil villian, with the aid of the daughter of his partner in the 60's. By the end she's fallen in love with Austin.
This is a funny movie, the funniest part is a scene with Tom Arnold doing a cameo. If you like stupid-humor this film is for you. Another funny part is when Dr. Evil and his son seek counseling at a therepy center.
