################################################################# GUYVER VS. ALIENS ------------- Part 1 of 3 Written by Ed Hrzic Copyright (c) 1997 by Ed Hrzic Aliens (c) and (TM) 20th Century Fox Characters remain the properties of their respective owners. ################################################################# ----------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, here is yet another Guyver fanfic from me, and no one else. Making another crossover, the Guyver comes in contact with "those deadly Aliens." But, I'll say it right up front: NO Zoanoids. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Comments? Send 'em to "bd981@yfn.ysu.edu". Thanks a bunch! ----------------------------------------------------------------- [Open on a the space-craft Guinevere that is passing a deep- orange colored planet. It continues to fly by. The POV changes to see their current destination, a deep-green planet, with patches of blue in random areas.] [Cut to the cockpit. Inside, a man and a woman are piloting the large craft. The man's name is Colonel Ramses, and the woman's name is Captain Terra.] TERRA. We are approximately seventy-two hours from our destination. Should we begin waking the colonists from cry- sleep? [Ramses nods. When Terra sees, she stands, and exist the cockpit, making her wa down a series of passageways, and then opening a large door at the end of one passage. She steps inside, and sees what is around her.] [There are fifty cryo-sleep tubes inside of the bay. She pulls a large switch to her right, and the lights on the tubes change from blue, to green. The tubes begin opening up.] [After all of the tubes open, it takes several moments for the colonists to wake up. They leave the tubes, and stand on the legs that they haven't used for quite a long time. Once Terra has seen that they are all awake, she steps into the center of the bay.] TERRA. Good morning, sleepyheads! My name is Captain Terra, and I will be briefing you into what will be your task assignments until we reach planet T-789. We are approximately seventy hours from the planet, where you will be colonizing. Until the, we have places for you to rest, and eat before we start making the drops. MAN #1. Are there supplies already down there? TERRA. (nodding) Yes. Housing and supplies were dropped a long time ago, and it'll simply be your job to live there. There could possible be more people coming later. It depends on how this effort goes. [Terra sees a man who is stumbling around.] TERRA. Sir? [The man looks around.] TERRA. Sir? Are you alright? [He is about to stumble, and fall down when she races to catch him.] TERRA. Hey, are you alright? MAN #2. I...I can't see... TERRA. It's hibernation sickness. Your eyesight will return. Here, just sit down right where you are. [She lowers him to the ground, and he sits there, helpless.] TERRA. Everyone, once we get settled, you'll be shown to your quarters that you will be using in the next few days. But since I woke up just a little while ago as well, I'm starved. I'll go to the mess and make sure that your food's prepared. RAMSES. (via the intercom) Terra, is everything alright? Everyone up? TERRA. Yes, everyone's up. RAMSES. No problems with anybody's cryo-sleep? TERRA. Just one with hibernation sickness. He's blind right now. RAMSES. Acknowledged. Take him to sick bay. We'll give him a booster-shot to speed recovery. TERRA. Roger. (to everyone) We need to have a role-call here, people! Please respond with "here" when you hear your name. [Cut the planet T-789. We scan over the housing, and come to rest on house that has its door open. As we pan inside, we see that the interior has been covered with some sort secretions, and the interior has been redesigned by some sort of creations. From the shadows, three creatures move down a tunnel. Fade to black.] Guyver vs. Aliens Story by Written by Ed Hrzic Ed Hrzic [Fade in on the mess of the ship, Guinevere. There are several people huddled around small tables and eating. Unfortunately, most of the tables were taken, so a little less than half of the people have to sit on the floor.] [Terra is walking around to see that everyone is alright, and have received their meals. She then sees the "blind-man" sitting in a corner.] TERRA. Hey there. Where's your meal? [He looks around, then up, as a blind person would do.] TERRA. The shot hasn't been working yet, has it? Let's see... Mister... (she looks at his name-tag) Sho Fukamachi. SHO. I already ate my meal. What? TERRA. Let us know if your sight doesn't come back soon. SHO. Alright. (he pulls the blanket that is around him a little tighter) TERRA. Just relax. Everything will be fine. SHO. (to himself) I don't think so. I've got a strange feeling about all of this. [Terra stands and walks away. Sho leans his head back against the wall and closes his eyes.] [He opens them. He is sitting on his bed in his quarters. He gets up and goes to wash his face. He can actually see, so he moves over to the sink and begins to wash his face.] RAMSES. (via intercom) Mr. Fukamachi, has your eyesight returned? SHO. Yes. It returned twenty minutes ago. RAMSES. That's good. Please me aware that we will be having a simulated drop tomorrow morning. SHO. Okay. [Sho looks into the mirror over the sink. His eyes are dark, and have a worried, restless look about them, but over-all, he seems very tired. He looks about nineteen years of age.] [He then vomits into the sink. He immediately turns on the water, and begins coughing to removed the rest of the stomach- acid from his mouth.] SHO. Damn it. It's either more hibernation sickness, or that damn food I ate. [He walks to the door and it opens.] [Cut to the Sick-bay. Lanp, the nurse, is attending to Sho.] LANP. This is the second time you've been in here, haven't you? SHO. Yeah. I think it's still from the cryo-sleep. LANP. What happened? SHO. I got up a little while ago, and I threw up in the sink. LANP. Oh, that's more common than you think. Not everybody adjusts to cryo-sleep well. SHO. Do you have any medication for it? I mean, I do still feel a little nausea. LANP. Not really. But we do have a patch to help with the feeling. Take off your shirt. [Lanp goes to a cabinet. Sho takes his shirt off, and she comes back with a patch the size of her palm. She opens it up, and presses it at the middle of his back.] LANP. Now, don't remove it. This should help. Actually, it's funny to have a person that has two symptoms of hibernation sickness. You're not an alien are you? SHO. (to himself) Lady, you really don't want to know. [Lanp seems two sore-like marks on his shoulder-blade area.] LANP. This is strange. SHO. What? LANP. These sore on your back. (she rubs a finger over them) They feel like rubbery skin. SHO. I've had those for years. It was part of something they removed from my back. I had...two tumors. They used synth-flesh to cover them. LANP. Intriguing. Well, since you've got the patch, you shouldn't have any more trouble. [Sho puts his shirt back on.] LANP. But if you do, see me IMMEDIATELY. SHO. Yes, miss. [Sho exits the Sick-bay and begins walking back to his room. he then stops and puts his hand to his head.] SHO. (to himself) What the hell's going on? Is the Guyver unit reacting to the cryo-sleep? Maybe since it's been inactive for so long... [He continues to walk to his room.] [The next day, Sho and several other colonists are sitting in chairs, and are strapped in rather uncomfortably. After a long while of jerking and moving, the room that they are in lurches as if it hit something. The small lights on the ceiling start to whirl with a red light.] RAMSES. (via the intercom) That will be somewhat like the actual drop. I trust that nobody was hurt. [There are various "Nos" from the crowd.] RAMSES. Very good. Exit the hatch to your right, and make way for the next bunch. [Sho unstrapped himself and went out of the hatch. He walked over to a water fountain inside of the bay, and drank deeply.] SHO. (to himself) It seems that the sickness is diminishing. Maybe the Guyver unit was just adjusting to space travel... [Someone taps him on the shoulder. He stops and turns around.] TERRA. You know, there's something about you that's been bugging me every since you woke up from cryo-sleep. SHO. Something's been bugging me, too. It's called nausea. TERRA. No, you just seem a little strange. SHO. (to himself) Bulls-eye! (to Terra) Everybody says that to me. TERRA. Well, you're the only asian on board. Considering that the Gallium Corporation, the Japanese company, is funding this entire effort, I'm surprised not to see more. SHO. I'm not. TERRA. Huh? SHO. After the race riots in Japan, Gallium wanted to ease tensions between other countries and itself. So, they funded this expedition. TERRA. What does that have to do- SHO. (waving) Never mind. Anyhow, it was nice talking to you. (he walks off) TERRA. Hey! Aren't you going to join me for lunch? SHO. What? [Cut to Guinevere mess. Terra and Sho are sitting at one of the small tables. No other people are in the room.] TERRA. So, what do you do? SHO. As of late? Just a wanderer. From place to place. TERRA. But before then. SHO. I was a student in Japan. Then I quit. TERRA. (shocked) Quit? Why'd you quit school? SHO. Certain...things...happened, and it seemed to be the wisest choice. I didn't just leave school, I left JAPAN. TERRA. Why? SHO. (putting his hands in front of him) It's a...personal matter. TERRA. No sweat. [The door to the mess opens. Ramses steps in.] TERRA. Afternoon, Colonel. Are the simulations done for the day? [Ramses sits down. He appears rather weary, and he stretches his arms and hands.] RAMSES. (long breath) Yeah. They should all be coming in for lunch pretty damn soon. So, (turning to Sho) who might this man be? TERRA. This is Sho Fukamachi. The one with the hibernation sickness. SHO. I hate being referred to be that. RAMSES. (chuckling) Well, I used to have it BAD the first few times through. But look at me now. Not a single thing happens when I wake up. TERRA. He's just teasing you, Sho. He gets up, then TOSSES up. That's why we keep a bucket near his cryo-chamber. RAMSES. (mock hurt) You really know how to hurt a guy, Terra. SHO. This is ALL very entertaining, but I'm pretty tired. [He gets up and walks out of the mess.] TERRA. I wonder what his problem is. RAMSES. As in...? TERRA. Well, he's rather...distant. People were really like that only during the twentieth century. Maybe I'm just going nuts, but there's something more to that 'kid' then he's letting on. RAMSES. Oh, come on. You see a piece of ass and you go for it. TERRA. Aren't MEN supposed to say that about WOMEN? RAMSES. Doesn't matter WHO it's from or directed to. Same point. (standing) You want to know what I think? TERRA. No. RAMSES. (ignoring her) I think that you've just got burned, and you don't want to face it. TERRA. Oh, come off it. RAMSES. I'm your commanding officer. What I say, goes. (he give a slight salute to her) Lower rank sucks, doesn't it? TERRA. (snarling) Go get your lunch. I'm getting out of here. [Ramses laughs, and walks to the tray area.] RAMSES. One special of the day, please. [Cut to the docking bay, the next day. Five drop-ships are lined up inside.] [Cut to interior of one drop-ship. Sho is sitting in one of the seats.] TERRA. (via intercom) Okay ladies and gentleman, what we are going to do is touch down on the planet. This should take roughly ten minutes. We'll be spending about a week with all of you, to make sure everything is find before we leave. (pause) We will start in five...four...three...two...one... [Sho closed his eyes.] TERRA (cont'd). DROP! [The entire ship lurches as the drop bays open, and the ships descend into planetary orbit.] [The five ships remain in a fixed pattern, not too close, yet not very far away. The boosters on the tops of the ships flared, sending them down into the atmosphere.] [Inside of the drop-ships, the hulls rumble, and lurch from side to side.] [Outside, the hulls heat up, and eventually cool down as they hit breathable air. The drop-ships slow their descents, and begin to fly toward the main coordinates.] TERRA. Ladies and gentlemen, we will be landing shortly. (to herself) I feel like a flippin' stewardess! [The ships continue, and then land in a very large clearing, next to the housing.] [After several moments, the door begin to open, and everyone begins to get out.] [Sho steps out into the air, and then down the hatch stairs. He looks around, and takes a long breath.] [The housing is made of white material, and there was one for every family that went on the trip. For those who were single, larger white houses accommodated two single people.] [Sho goes to the rear, and picks up his pack and gear. He swings it over his back, moves to a more convenient spot.] [After a long while, everyone is standing in the clearing next to the houses. Terra and Ramses stand in front of the crowd.] RAMSES. Okay. We're going to read family names, and you'll be directed to a house. Please take all of your things with you. Captain? TERRA. (stepping forward) First up, Aliban! [Eventually, the names reach Sho's, and he moves out to one of the larger houses, since he's single.] [As he's walking to the door, he sees a few people standing outside, and some are just coming out of the house. Their baggage is still outside.] [When Sho walks up, a tall man gestures to him.] MAN. I wouldn't go in there if I was you. SHO. Huh? MAN. See for yourself. [Sho puts his bags on the ground, and walks into the house.] SHO. What in hell-? [The entire interior of the house is covered in some soft of chitinous material, and equally covered in some sort of secretion. Sho hesitates, and tries to touch some of it. He then wipes his hands on his pants, and walks outside.] MAN. See? SHO. What is that stuff? [The man lights up a cigarette.] SHO. I don't know, but it looks like someone either was, or is, living here.] MAN #2. Maybe some sort of life-form. MAN. That's taking over the houses? You're off your rocker. [Man #2 sits in silence.] SHO. We'll see. [Sho walks back to the drop ships, where Terra and Ramses are finishing some adjustments.] RAMSES. Well, if it isn't sick-boy! How are things at the houses? SHO. I...think you better see for yourself. [Cut back to house. Terra, Sho and Ramses step inside.] RAMSES. Holy mother...what is all of this crap? SHO. I was hoping that you could tell us. TERRA. (eyeing the walls) Secretions...looks like someone has been building a cave out of saliva. RAMSES. Spit? That's disgusting! TERRA. It certainly LOOKS like spit. SHO. Over here. [Terra and Ramses move to the back of the house where Sho is. He's standing in front of a large hole that leads down into the ground.] RAMSES. It looks like someTHING has been here. It went right through the floor! (he rubs his hand over the edges of the hole. TERRA. I don't like this...we're going to have to run a report or something. SHO. Then I take it we'll be sleeping under the stars tonight? RAMSES. Do you WANT to stay in here? [Sho shook his head vigorously.] TERRA. There's your answer. (she rubs her chin) I wonder if the other houses are like this? [Cut to night, outside. Most of the colonists are huddled around camp fires.] RAMSES. HOW many of the houses? TERRA. All of them...except four. RAMSES. That's twenty five houses! What's going on? [Sho tosses a stick into the fire.] RAMSES. (to Sho) Gee, you're taking this well. SHO. Believe me, I've seen MUCH more vile stuff in my life. This is NOTHING compared to that. RAMSES. Then maybe you have some ideas, smart guy! TERRA. Colonel, he's just- RAMSES. Captain, we're here to do a job, and get paid quite a commission for our work. I'm not about to let a hundred-thousand slip through my fingers, just because of SPIT. SHO. Then, why don't you get up, and go down into those holes in the houses? If you see anything, just scream. [Ramses sits in silence.] TERRA. Anyway, it is a good idea. RAMSES. What?! TERRA. Not YOU going down there. A few people...a team, if you will. We have some pulse rifles and some flamers in the drop ships for emergencies like this. SHO. That's a bit ludicrous. You don't know what's down there, even IF there is. TERRA. Well, we have to find out SOMETHING to put in our report. What do we say? Sorry, we got there, only something moves into the houses BEFORE us. [Sho tosses another stick into the fire and shrugs.] RAMSES. Well, I hate to admit it, but that seems to be our only alternative. We'll start recruiting people tomorrow. For now, let's just get some shut eye. TERRA. You're the boss. [Terra and Ramses turn over and close their eyes. Sho takes a long look at the houses, and he could swear he seems something move in the shadows, as if it was watching the colonists.] [Cut to mid-day. Terra and Ramses are walking around the various houses, trying to see which one they would want to enter. They looked at some blue-prints, and saw that if they needed to make a quick exit, they would need another house that was close, and had one of the multitude of holes in it.] TERRA. (pointing to the blueprint) I think the best place would be...here. RAMSES. Hmmm. Close proximity to the other houses...and a good escape route. Very good. (he rolls up the blue-print) Now all we need are some people that are foolish enough to go down into there with us. [After three hours, Terra and Ramses had gathered five other people, most of them either had some limited weapons training, or were separated from the armed forces, with combat training.] RAMSES. Okay. We are going for a little 'expedition' into the holes that we have in some of these houses. We don't know what's down there at all; we don't have any scanners to tell us. All that we do know is that SOMETHING is living down there, and making YOUR houses THEIR homes. You two (he points to two men) have had some training with flamers, correct? [Both men look at each other, then back, and nod.] RAMSES. Good. Then you'll each be given a flamer. The rest of you will be given the standard-issue pulse-rifle, and two clips each, so make 'em count! [Terra begins handing out the equipment to the people, and then she and Ramses begin putting on their equipment.] [Cut to a house. All seven people are standing at the entrance to one of the holes.] RAMSES. Okay everyone, light on. [Everyone turns on a small, but powerful, light that is attached to their helmets.] RAMSES. Terra, you take the rear. The rest of you fall in. If there is ANY trouble, you let us know, then take off back for the house here, understand? [There are nods from the crowd.] RAMSES. Good. Lock and load! [He, and the rest of the team cock their weapons.] [Sho looks at the team front outside. He is not part of it.] SHO. (to himself) I hope they come back in one piece...I DO have a bad feeling about this. And what was that thing that I saw? It WAS something, not just the wind or a shadow. Perhaps I should have joined...no. They'll take care of it. [He turns, and walks back toward the encampment.] [Cut to caverns, below ground.] [The lights of the team shown over the walls. The walls are made of the same material that was above ground in the houses.] TERRA. It's the same type of stuff... RAMSES. Come again? TERRA. The walls. (pause) They're made of the same stuff. [Ramses prods the wall with his pulse rifle. Nothing happens.] RAMSES. I'm still wondering what all of this stuff is, though. MAN. Colonel, if it's made by somethin' down here, do you think they could be like bees? RAMSES. (stops) Bees? What do you mean, 'bees'? MAN. I mean, bees make hives, don't they? They use spit 'n stuff to make their walls 'n- RAMSES. Are you telling me that there are BEES down here? MAN. No sir. I'm just sayin' that whatever it is, it's making some sort of hive, from my guesstimate. TERRA. Colonel, I think he's got a point. [Ramses swallows hard.] RAMSES. Damn it. I hate bees. [After a little while of walking, they hear what appears to be a very dull growl.] RAMSES. Formation! [The team puts its backs together, in a circle, and they look around.] RAMSES. (frightened) Terra (pause) give me something to work on. TERRA. You know as much as I do. I don't see anything. Does anybody else? [No answer from the team. They're just standing still, looking around.] [Something drips from the ceiling onto the face of one of the men. He stops and puts his hand to his face, then looks at the saliva coating his hand.] MAN. What the- (he looks up) [A black form shifts slightly on the ceiling, swiping its tail at him. He is knocked against the floor.] MAN. Above us! [The team looks up, seeing the alien on the ceiling. The man rolls out of the way. They begin to fire. The remains of the alien splatter and fall on one of the other men. He screams in agony as the acid start burning through his skin. After a few moments of squirming, he becomes still.] [One of the men vomits against the wall.] RAMSES. Jesus, Mary and Joseph... [Terra moves forward and takes a look at the remains of the alien, and of the man.] TERRA. It looks like its (pause) acid. MAN. Acid? What the hell? RAMSES. It burn right through that man. Terra, what about the 'thing'? TERRA. Seems to be bipedal, from the remains. Long claws, and even longer teeth. I don't see any eyes, though. MAN. No eyes? Then how'd it see us? RAMSES. Not everything uses eyes, son. TERRA. Are you suggesting infravision? RAMSES. I'm not suggesting anything. I'm BANKING on it. [There is another growl. They look around again.] [One man looks down a passage.] MAN. Oh my (pause) God. RAMSES. What is it man? (looking in the other direction) MAN. Colonel... RAMSES. What (looks) everyone, get back! [Point of view changes to the hallway they are looking down. Approximately ten aliens are bearing down on them. Quickly.] [The team begins running in the direction that it came in.] RAMSES. Move, move, MOVE! [Ramses turns and begins back-stepping, firing several rounds at the approaching creatures. Two fall.] TERRA. Ramses! Fall back! [He turns and sees Terra waiting near a bend. He turns and runs, until he passes her.] TERRA. FIRE IN THE HOLE! [She pumps the pulse-rifle, and the cavern goes up in smoke. She turns and starts running.] [Cut to Ramses. An alien drops in front of him.] RAMSES. OUTTA MY WAY! [He shoves the pulse-rifle into its stomach, and fires several rounds. The acid flies to the ground in back of it. When he pulls the gun out of its body, he realizes that the acid ate away most of the barrel.] RAMSES. (looking at it) DAMN IT! Terra! [He hears footfalls. Terra comes from behind the bend.] TERRA. (running) Right here! RAMSES. Let's get out of here! [Another aliens drops in front of them. Ramses takes the useless pulse-rifle and clubs in across the face, sending it into the wall. It appears dazed, but still alive.] [Ramses and Terra keep running.] RAMSES. Any more grenades? TERRA. No! We only had one each! What about yours? RAMSES. The barrel's wasted. I can't do anything! [They see light ahead. When they exit, they see the rest of the team waiting outside. They jump behind them.] RAMSES. Grenades! Waste the house! [The three who had the remaining pulse-rifles fired their grenades into the house. They all dive for cover then.] [The house goes up in flames.] RAMSES. (getting up) Everyone alright? [There are some brief nods.] RAMSES. Good. We need to have a gathering. TO BE CONTINUED... ################################################################# GUYVER VS. Send 'em to "bd981@yfn.ysu.edu". Thanks a bunch! ----------------------------------------------------------------- [Cut to nearly sun-down.] MAN. We're going to do WHAT? RAMSES. We're all going to have to go back to earth. That's the only thing we can do. WOMAN. You must be kidding. RAMSES. It's a MESS. That's what this whole expedition is. Look, we lost a man down there to whatever things are around us, and I don't want to have any more like him if I can help it! [Sho is watching all of this with extreme interest.] TERRA. Hey, before we cast anything in stone, does anyone else have any ideas? [No one volunteers anything.] TERRA. Anyone? SHO. Well, everything has a leader, right? RAMSES. Come again? SHO. A leader. Everything has a leader. Like the other man said, if they were like bees, they should have a 'queen.' RAMSES. I don't see what you're getting at- TERRA. Of course! If we knock-out the queen-bee, then we cause enough chaos to get rid of the rest of them. RAMSES. (nodding) Okay, but how do we go about doing that? Look at what we've got. They can sense heat, we think, they're fast, and they've got acid for blood, to top it all off. SHO. Well, can you kill them? RAMSES. Well, yeah. With the pulse-rifles. SHO. Then what's the problem? RAMSES. The problem is, we don't know what we're doing. If something big is down there, I'd like to know where it is first, rather than just run around down in a maze, being the mouse in a cat game. SHO. Then you get some more equipment. TERRA. (to Ramses) There's a bit more stuff on the Guinevere. RAMSES. I'm still thinking that the whole thing's a bit ludicrous. I mean, I'm all for it. There's no doubt about that. But what do WE know about those things? [Terra shrugs.] [Cut to a drop-ship taking off.] TERRA. (to a radio) Ramses, remember to get as much as you can. We may need all the help you can get. Over. RAMSES. Roger. Over and out. [The drop-ship disappear out of sight.] WOMAN. Miss, with all of those things out there, where are we going to sleep? TERRA. I guess it'll be out here under the stars again tonight. WOMAN. But what if those things come? TERRA. We'll have to have watches, then. [Terra gathers the team that was used in the tunnels.] TERRA. We need to set up watch standings. Two people per shift. Since we only have five people, we're going to have to have three three-hour shifts. Haubs, you and Kalven take the first. Me and Dave will take the second. Clide, looks like you're alone for the last one. Since it'll be daybreak, I don't think anything will happen. CLIDE. Yes ma'am. TERRA. Okay then, let's get to work! [Cut to night. Nearly all of the colonists are sleeping. Sho is one of those who is not. He is laying on a mat on the ground, next to a large rock. He shakes his head, as he can't sleep. He sits up and settles himself against the rock. He is in full view of the houses.] SHO. (to himself) I KNEW something was going to happen. I could just feel it. These people are in over their heads. They can't do anything to combat whatever those things are. They would need an extermination squad. Or... [Sho shakes his head again.] SHO (cont'd). No, I told myself that I would NEVER again activate the Guyver unit. I left that part of me twenty years ago... [He looked around at all of the people who were sleeping. Families, little children cuddled with their parents, and others.] SHO (cont'd). But this is different. But how different? I've let murders, robberies, and even worse happen, because I didn't want to become the Guyver. Why would this be any different? VOICE. (in Sho's head) GUYVER! GUYVER! GUYVER! [He puts his hands to his head.] SHO. (to himself) Who am I? I'm the Guyver. That's who I am. [Sho stands, and making sure that no one can see him, he sneaks over to one of the undamaged houses. No one is around.] [He walks inside, and notes the hole in the wall. He walks to it, then steps into it.] SHO. It's so warm in here... [All of the sudden, something drops from the ceiling, right behind him, and grabs him with inhuman strength. Sho struggles, but can't get out.] SHO. Alright! GUYVER! [There is a blast of light, and the alien is ripped apart by the energy barrier that surrounds Sho. The acid is super-heated until is dissolves, unaffecting him. The armor contracts all around him, turning him into the killing machine known as the Guyver.] SHO. Nothing else around. [He begins walking deeper into the tunnels.] SHO. Where are all of them hiding? [The sensitivity perceptor on the right side of his head moves backward, signaling that something was behind him and up. He quickly turns and fires a green beam from his forehead.] [The beam hits the alien, slicing through it. It splatters on the ground with a thump.] [Both perceptors on his head start to move.] SHO. Looks like I got someone's attention. [Two aliens appear in the passageway, another on the ceiling above him.] [Sho summons a gravity globe in his hands, and launches it down at the ground-bound aliens. The area of effect shatters them. The one above drops down on him, knocking him to the ground.] SHO. You're kinda strong aren't you? [The alien snaps its jaws at him as he keeps its face away from his body. Sho brings his knees up, and launches the alien backward.] [Sho quickly stands and turns to see the alien land on its feet, as if a cat.] [It moves toward him, and he punches it in the chest. The shell breaks, showering his hand with acid. The alien drops, dead, and Sho cries out in pain as he shakes the rest of the acid from his hand.] SHO. Damn it...cursed creatures...acid... [The perceptors on his head go off again. Sho turns to see several more aliens coming toward him from the passage. He turns and sees more aliens coming from the passage he came from.] SHO. Looks like I caught a LOT of someone's attention. [Sho summons another gravity globe and launches it down the other tunnel. He turns to the direction that he entered the tunnels in, firing an beam down at the approaching horde. He then makes a bad dash toward them.] [For one, he kicks it to the side. He crushes another's head with his elbow. Another gains ground on him. Instinctively, Sho extends his left vibration-sword, and cuts it in half.] [Sho then looks down at his arm. The blade of the sword is eaten all of the way down to his arm.] SHO. DAMNED ACID! [Still, he can see more coming out of the walls, out of the ceiling, and more down the passages.] SHO. My god... Maybe this wasn't such a great idea. [Sho keeps charging through the passages, laying waste to more of the creatures in his wake. The aliens are hot on his trail.] [When Sho finally gets to the exit, he turns his head and fires several beams into the hole, knocking down several aliens. Sho then punches several of the support beams above the hole, collapsing most of the ceiling to cover the hole.] [Sho then starts breathing deeply.] SHO. (to himself) At least I still remember how to use it. [His left perceptor goes off. He jumps upward to the ruined ceiling as several shells go off into the wall where he was.] TERRA. Damned creatures. Come down off of there! [She fires several more rounds, going through the ceiling. Sho jumps to an area where he can see her, and shoots a beam down at her.] [The pulse-rifle falls to the ground, cut in half.] TERRA. What in hell-?! [She desperately reaches into her jacket for a grenade, and pulls it out.] SHO. Hold it! Don't do it! [Terra stops.] TERRA. What the- you things can talk? SHO. I'm not one of those things. TERRA. I could swear that you looked like one when you came out of the hole. SHO. Trust me, I'm not. I went in, and just came back out. TERRA. Went in-?! SHO. I wanted to see what those things were. TERRA. Who are you?! [Sho jumps down from the ceiling, into the shadows.] TERRA. You're going to have to come out of there. (raising the grenade above her head) I'm warning you. [Sho begins to step out of the shadows. His legs first, then his body, then his face become visible.] [Terra stifles a scream.] TERRA. Jesus...what ARE you? SHO. That would take too long to explain. TERRA. Then WHO are you? SHO. My name is...better left unsaid. TERRA. (fiddling with the grenade) You're in no position to bargain. SHO. (sighs) Very well. My name is Sho Fukamachi. TERRA. WHAT?! The colonist?! SHO. Yes. The one you're friend called 'sick-boy'. TERRA. YOU'RE Sho? What's going on here? SHO. I told you that it was a long story. TERRA. Well, we're going to be here for a while. SHO. Then, let's go to a more convenient place. Back to the camp. TERRA. Like that?! [Sho gestures, and the armor disappears.] TERRA. Incredible... [Cut to encampment. They sit down next to a the fire.] SHO. I'll start at the beginning. It happened while I was a student in school. I was just an average kid, wanting nothing more than what any other near-graduate wanted: get into college, get a job, and get married. TERRA. A far cry from what _I_ wanted at that time. SHO. Every culture has their different views. One day, I was walking with a friend, when we came across something after an explosion. It would be later known as a 'Guyver Unit.' TERRA. Guyver Unit? SHO. Yes. Unfortunately, I activated it, making me the host for it. TERRA. Host? You mean that it's alive? SHO. (nodding) Yes. Very alive. I, and everyone I knew, would be targets for a corporation who wanted the unit for itself. After several events, my friend was kidnapped. I then rescued her and, in the process, destroyed another Guyver unit. [Sho leans back.] SHO (cont'd). It was then that I decided to leave Japan. Staying there would make my friends a continuous target. I left to continue my fight against the Kronos corporation, and destroy it for what they did to me, and everyone else. [Terra sits back.] TERRA. I don't know whether to believe you, or fully trust you. SHO. Don't do either. I finally succeeded in destroying the Kronos corporation for all it was. I then vowed NEVER to use the Guyver again. My job was finished. That was it. TERRA. But you were it back there. SHO. (nods) I know, but it was about time that I stopped running away from what I am. That's precisely the reason I came to T-789. I wanted a TOTALLY clean slate. A place where I could build from. TERRA. This...this is strange... SHO. When I said that I had seen stranger things that this two days ago, I meant it. TERRA. Then why become the...Guyver...again? SHO. Everybody here is at risk. I had to see what those things were for myself. TERRA. How did you do? SHO. I don't know. I took several down, but as the battle went on, they started coming out of the woodwork...literally. They swarmed like pack animals. TERRA. Maybe they are like bees. SHO. What? TERRA. Just remembering what that one guy said down in the tunnel. SHO. Wait...do you have a copy of the blueprints of the housing with you? TERRA. In the other drop-ship. Why? SHO. Trust me on this. TERRA. Since I swallowed your story whole, I might as well. [Terra stands, and walks off. She comes back several moments later with a large roll of paper. She give it to him.] SHO. (unrolling it) Do you have a pen? TERRA. Yes. [She fishes in her pocket and hands him a large, red pen.] [Sho studies the prints for a bit, and then looks at the house where he came from.] TERRA. What is it? [Sho draws a line on the paper. He then looks up at the two houses that were destroyed earlier.] TERRA. What? Do you know something? [Sho draws several more lines on the paper.] TERRA. I don't understand- [She looks down at the prints.] SHO. There. If they're swarming animals, then the queen should be right in the middle. TERRA. Heavens... [The prints have the houses in a circular pattern. Sho has drawn lines from every house into the interior of the circle. All of the lines intersect at one point.] SHO. I think it's there. TERRA. There? What's there? SHO. The queen-bee. [Terra hears crackling coming from a radio in her jacker.] RAMSES. (vie radio) Captain Terra, are you there? TERRA. (taking the radio) Yes Colonel, go ahead. RAMSES. You're not going to believe this. We have guests up here. TERRA. Guests? Those things-? RAMSES. No. From the GALLIUM Corp.. Seems that they made a little error before we came. TERRA. What?! RAMSES. It would be best if you would come up here. They want a discussion with you as well. Over. TERRA. Roger. Over and out. SHO. The Gallium Corp.? TERRA. (stands) Yes. I'm going to have to get up there right now. You're coming too. SHO. What? TERRA. You heard me. Ramses will want to know about this. SHO. The fewer the better. TERRA. We need a chance against these things. So far, they're as numerous as the hairs on my head. You're the only thing that would remotely stand a chance against them. [Sho sat in silence.] TERRA. Haubs! Kalven! Get over here! [Two men got up from the sleeping mats and walked over.] KALVEN. Yes ma'am? TERRA. You and Haubs are in charge until I get back. Seems we have a little problem on the Guinevere. KALVEN. What kind? TERRA. (sigh) I'll tell you when we get back. Sho, let's get going. [Cut to the drop-ship taking off. It vanishes into the atmosphere.] [Cut to the briefing room of the Guinevere. Ramses, Terra, and two men in business suits are sitting around the briefing table.] AKKEF. Rather unfortunate, really. RAMSES. Unfortunate is a light word. TERRA. You mean to tell me our send-off date was too EARLY? SIBON. Yes. We were full aware of the 'infestation' on planet T-789 well in advance. TERRA. And why didn't you tell us? AKKEF. To avoid an incident, we didn't tell you, since the matter would have been cleaned up before you got there. RAMSES. But it wasn't. SIBON. Don't worry. We will have the entire situation under control as soon as possible. We will simply tell the colonists what happened, and appropriate reparations will be made. TERRA. And that's it? AKKEF. Well, the colonists will be transported back here, onto the ship, and made to wait until the creatures are destroyed, thoroughly, and for good. RAMSES. (standing) Wrong! We're going back, now! SIBON. Actually, Colonel, you have no choice in the matter. We have a contract with the United Earth Government. The contract specifically states that we can use whatever means we need to see to the safety of the colonists. We have the final word on the matter. AKKEF. And we will leave for the planet shortly, since it will be morning soon. [Akkef and Sibon stand, and then leave.] [Ramses slams his hand down upon the table.] RAMSES. Son of a bitch! TERRA. Colonel, it won't help to get angry. RAMSES. Like hell! I'd like wring their collared little necks! TERRA. This is not the place! (pause) There's also something you should know. RAMSES. (calming) What is it? TERRA. It's about the colonist named Fukamachi. RAMSES. What about him? TERRA. Maybe he should explain. [Cut to later, in a landing bay. Terra, Ramses and Sho are standing around.] RAMSES. He's a what? TERRA. A Guyver. RAMSES. A Guyver? What the hell is that? Some sort of ninja? SHO. No. Not at all. RAMSES. Then? SHO. Here. Let me show you. [She tenses up, and there is a bright flash of light. The armor appears and contracts around him.] RAMSES. (dumbfounded) What is sam-hell-? SHO. This is a Guyver. It's a biological weapon. RAMSES. It's going to be a long night, isn't it? [Sho and Terra nod.] [Cut to Terra's quarters. She is typing something at a terminal on her desk.] TERRA. Let's see...
