Rezo the Red Priest, one of 5 Wise Men, who was once a priest of the Water Dragon King. Rezo studied Black, White, and Shamanistic magic in an attempt to cure his blindness. Finally he made a 'deal with the devil' kind of thing. He agreed to resurrect the Dark Lord Shabrinigdo in return for his blindness being cured. When he resurrected Shabrinigdo, he found out a baaaad thing. That the Dark Lord was sealed in Rezo's eyes. This of course caused Rezo to be absorbed by Shabrinigdo. A terrible battle with Lina, Zelgadis and Gourry ensued, and on Lina's last hope, a spell called the Giga Slave, she gave Rezo a choice, to help her stop shabrinigdo, or to let his soul be totally consumed. Rezo chose to help Lina, and helped her defeat Shabrinigdo.

When you say "Rezo" to a Slayers fan all too often the people will just say "EVILLLLL". Rezo's really not evil! Bit by bit he was taken over by Shabrinigdo, and at the end, even Zelgadis doubted there was much Rezo left. Rezo is/was a good guy, he was taken over. So remember, Rezo = Good. Possessed Rezo = Bad.
