Samuel Bell Tolle, son of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle, was born 24 Feb 1806 in Amherst County, Virginia. He married in Barren County, Kentucky on 6 Dec 1827 to Mary Ann Snoddy. Mary Ann Snoddy, born 16 Jan 1807, was the daugher of Sarah (Allen) and Daniel Snoddy. One of Mary Ann's sisters was married to Samuel's father, and two of her siblings married two of Samuel's. He was listed on the Barren County tax rolls in 1828, and on the census records of 1840 through 1860. His name is listed in the indexes to the deed books of Barren County. Mary Ann died 22 Mar 1861. Samuel married again on 23 Jan 1862 to Anna Piercy, daughter of Mary (Dalton) and James McClellan Piercy. William died 19 Apr 1868 of a complication of diseases, and he is buried in the Tolle-Snoddy cemetery. His widow, Anna (Piercy) Tolle later married Samuel's brother-in-law, william Alen Snoddy.

Alexander Roger Tolle, son of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle, was born 22 Oct 1807 in Amherst County, Virginia. He married 21 Dec 1830 in Barren County, Kentucky to Mary Brumboc Rogers. He was found on the 1840 census of Barren County. He died of fever on 17 Apr 1844, and is buried in the Rogers Cemetery in Barren County. There is no stone.

ANN ELIZA TOLLE6 (William5; Roger Jr4; Roger3; Tobias2; Roger1)
Ann Eliza Tolle, daughter of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle was born 30 Oct 1809 in Amherst County, Virginia. On 28 Nov 1832 in Barren County, Kentucky she married William Alen snoddy. William Snoddy was born about 1810, the son of Sarah (Allen) and Daniel Snoddy. Three of his siblings also married into this family. Ann and William appeared on the 1850 and 1860 census of Barren County. Ann Eliza (Tolle) Snoddy died on 25 Jul 1867, and is buried in the Tolle cemetery in Barren County. After her death, William married Anna (Piercy) Tolle, the widow of Ann's brother Samuel Bell Tolle.

Martha Jane Tolle, daughter of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle, was born 13 Mar 1811 in Amherst County, Virginia. In 1833, she married Benjamin Allen Snoddy in Barren County, Kentucky. Benjamin was the son of Sarah (Allen) and Daniel Snoddy. Three of his siblings also married into this Tolle family. Martha and Benjamin moved to Ray County, Missouri where she died of miscarriage on 7 Jan 1847. Benjamin died intestate in Barren County, Kentucky. His probabe record dated 1 Jul 1882 identifies most of his children.

Sally Simms Tolle, daughter of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle, was born 10 Aug 1812 in Amherst County, Virginia. She was a twin of an unnamed child who died at birth. She married John s. Neagle in 1835 in Barren County, Kentucky. She was still in Barren County in the 1860 census, but she died in Bullitt County, Kentucky on either the 21st or 22nd of Feb 1874. she died suddently of heart failure, and is buried in Sheperdsville, Bullitt County. Sally's family has been compiled from the 1860 census of Barren County, Kentucky.

George Washington Tolle, son of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle, was born 9 May 1817 in Amherst County, Virginia. He married Mary Ann Rogers in 1839 in Barren County, Kentucky. He was listed on the 1840 census of Barren County, but died of fever in either 1847 or 1848. He is buried in the Tolle-Snoddy Cemetery. His family has been compiled from the 1850 census of Barren County, Kentucky.

BAILEY TURNER TOLLE, son of Mary/Polly (Turner) and William Tolle, was born 13 Jul 1820 in Amherst County, Virginia. He was a twin of Patrick Henry Tolle who was killed in the Civil War. He married Lydia K. Hammer on 24 Dec 1857 in Barren County, Kentucky. Lydia was born 6 Jul 1838. Bailey was found on the Barren County census for 1840 through 1860. There is a court record for him in 1855. He lived on Burkesville Road, 3 1/2 miles from Glasgow, and was a carpenter & undertaker. He died of Fever on 4 Oct 1875, and is buried in the Tolle Burying Ground in Barren County. Lydia died after 1900.

THOMAS BRANSFORD TOLLE 6 (William5; Roger Jr4; Roger3; Tobias2; Roger1)
Thomas Bransford Tolle, son of Martha Jane (Snoddy) and William Tolle, was born 1 Feb 1826 in Barren County, Kentucky. He was married on 11 Jan 1849 in Barren County to Sarah Jane Fisher. Thomas and Sarah had two children, and then she died 12 Jun 1857. Thomas married again to Martha Malone on 11 Feb 1860 in Barren County, and they had one more child. Martha died, and on 4 Jul 1867 he married for the third time to Nancy Ann Huffman. Nancy died before 1874. Thomas was on the 1850 census of Barren County, and although he was probably there in 1860, he wasn't found on that census. In 1870 he was in Hart County, Kentucky. His fourth marriage was to Sarah (Harder) Wright who he married on 21 Jul 1876 in simpson County, Kentucky. In 1880 they were living in Warren County, Kentucky, and in 1900 they turned up in Spencer County, Indiana. There seemed to besome kind of a rift between Thomas and his family, but it isn't known why at this time. It is not known where or when Thomas died.

JAMES MADISON TOLLE6 (William5; Roger Jr4; Roger3; Tobias2; Roger1)
James Madison Tolle, son of Martha Jane (Snoddy) and William Tolle, was born 31 Dec 1827 in Barren County, Kentucky. On 27 Sep 1855 in Barren County, he married Mary E. Mansfield. He was age 27, and she was 18. He was found on the 1850 and 1860 census of Barren County. Need to study his civil war record. There is a conflict. Company F, 21st Regiment Kentucky Volunteers. He was killed in the battle of Stone River in Tennessee, and is buried in Munfresboro, Tennessee. His widow applied for a pension on 5 Mar 1863.

Elizabeth Susan Fowler Tolle, daughter of Martha Jane (Snoddy) and William Tolle was born 16 Apr 1832 in Barren County, Kentucky. She married William M. Mansfield on 28 Dec 1855 in Barren County. He was age 20 and she age 23 at the marriage. William Mansfield served in the Civil War in Company F. of the 21st Kentucky Infantry. Elizabeth died 26 Feb 1912, and William died only a few months later on 12 Nov 1912. They are buried in the Tolle cemetery.

Virginia Louisa Tolle, daughter of Martha Jane (Snoddy) and William Tolle, was born 19 Oct 1845 in Barren County, Kentucky. She was married on 14 May 1865 in Barren County, Kentucky to Marcus T. King. They were still in Barren County, Kentucky as late as 1897 but by 1905 she was in Texas. She died 16 Dec 1905 in Nederland, Texas. She was buried 18 Dec 1905 in the Port Arthur, Texas Cemetery.

Sarah Fowler Tolle, daughter of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 23 Jan 1813 Campbell County, Virginia. She married Andrew Neagle in 1833 in Barren County, Kentucky. Andrew was the son of Elizabeth (?) and Lloyd Neagle. She was called Sally Neagle in the estate settlement of her parents in 1854. She lived her whole life in Barren County, and when her brother Samuel Roger Tolle visited her in 1897, he described her as eighty five years old and very feeble. She probably died soon after that, but the exact date isn't known.

Silas S. Tolle, son of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 10 May 1815 in Campbell County, Virginia. He married Catherine Neagle in 1837 in Barren County, Kentucky. He had five children, but died at a young age of 31, on 2 Oct 1846. He was deceased at the settlement of his parent's estate, and his children were named as heirs.

David Bell Tolle, son of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 29 Aug 1817 in Campbell County, Virginia. He married Martha Emily Crews on 6 Feb 1843 in Amherst County, Virginia. Security and witness to the marriage was R.B. Bell. He was Still in Barren County, Kentucky in 1850, but they moved to Henry County, Missouri before 1860, and then to Moniteau County, Missouri before 1870. David purchased lots 111 & 112, each 100 feet square in the town of California in Moniteau County on 19 Apr 1865, and sold it on 18 Dec 1868. David was the proprietor of the Tipton Hotel from before 1870 to at least 1880. Emily died 7 May 1887 in Moniteau County, Missouri. Sometime after that he moved to California where he died on 27 Apr 1903. He was 86 years old, and the cause of death was cerebral Hemorrhage.

Harriet Bowling Tolle, daughter of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 4 Dec 1819 in Campbell County, Virginia. She was married in 1845 to Davis B. Lumbert in Barren County, Kentucky. She was listed as an heir in the settlement of the estate of her parents in 1854. Her death occurred in Pettis County, Missouri on 9 May 1856.

Elizabeth Ann Tolle, daughter of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 10 Jul 1822 in Campbell County, Virginia. She was married on 21 Jan 1841 in Barren County, Kentucky to George Barton Harlan. His parents were Elizabeth Street (Smith) and Leven Harlan. she was listed as an heir to her parents estate in 1854. They moved to Bond County, Illinois where whe died on 24 Feb 1858, and she is buried there in the Bethel Church Burying Grounds.

Samuel Roger Tolle, son of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 19 Aug 1825 in Barren County, Kentucky. He was married in 1847 to Margaret Campbell Smith in Barren County. He was on the list of heirs when his parents estate was settled in 1854; Margaret died 9 Jan 1860 and there were no children. He married again on 20 Aug 1862 to Rachel A.E. Childress. He was the Sheriff of Barren County in 1865. Samuel was listed in the census of Barren County from 1840 through 1880. He moved to Daviess County, Kentucky. His daughters Lelah and Sally had a double wedding there in 1886, and in 1889 he and his wife deeded their land to them for $1. On 13 Aug 1897, he made a trip back to Barren County to visit the places of his youth. He took his wife and a granddaughter Eugenia Owsley in a one horse surrey, drawn by his much admired horse, Dolly Varden. He visited with many old friends and family members. They returned home in october. He died after 1898.

Martha Jane Tolle, daughter of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 24 May 1831 in Barren County, Kentucky. She married between 1850-1852 to James Barnett Gibbs. She was listed as an heir in the settlement of her parents estate in 1854. It isn't known when they moved to Hickory County, Missouri, but she died there on 4 Apr1887 in her 56th year.

John Thomas Tolle, son of Sophia (Bell) and Alexander Tolle, was born 14 Mar 1834 in Barren County, Kentucky. He was listed as an heir on the settlement of his parents estate in 1854. He married Mary W. Parrish on 5 May 1860 in Sumner County, Tennessee. He was on the 1850 through 1870 census of Barren County, and listed as a wagoner in one, and stage driver in another. He died 21 Aug 1878, killed by Sterling Smith of Glasgow, Kentucky. Details unknown as of now.
