Dear friend, 

As you have probably heard by now, an Ad Hoc Committee 
for Racial Justice has formed in response to the theme of this 
year's Hotlanta River Expo (HRE): "Year of the Dragon."  
We thank you for your support. Over 100 individuals and over 15 local 
and national organizations have signed on to our efforts.  
Expressions of support have  come from as far 
away as Minneapolis, San Francisco and Washington DC.

we need your presence this weekend***

Members and supporters of the Ad Hoc Committee 
for Racial Justice will distribute educational leaflets before the 
main event, "Dragon Dance," on Saturday Night.   

The schedule for Saturday is: 

7:00    Gather at Inovox Lounge 
7:30    Begin Briefing and Training for action 
8:30    Leave Inovox 
9:00    Begin Flyering and Educating at the Westin-Peachtree

Our goals for this action are: 

First, to establish that insensitivity, intentional or 
unintentional, is still racism. 

Second, this event lacks education. This theme uses cultural
 stereotypes and recreates the racism in our larger society. 
It is important that participants know this so it won't happen again. 

Third, a direct action will help to keep HRE organizers and
 participants accountable and demonstrate the presence of 
active anti-racists within the Queer community.   

This weekend we will begin building a movement to 
confront racism and other oppression within the Queer community!
