Above is the house in Red Ash Coal Camp that I lived in when I was growing up. This picture was taken in 1985, the house is no longer there. My Grandparents, Thomas Witten White and Nannie Mae Whited White lived here, then my Parents lived here, and then I lived here. This old house has a lot of memories associated with it, both good, and bad, but, it will always be Home!
William Harley Vance 1916-1985.
This is my Father, this picture was taken in 1982. He is the son of Fields Joshua Vance and Abinda Louise (Smith) Vance.
Dorothy Ellen (White) Vance 1917-1993.
This is my Mother, this picture was taken in 1988. She is the daughter of Thomas Witten White and Nannie Mae (Whited) White.

On the left is William Harley Vance, my Father. On the right is Fields Joshua Vance, my Grandfather. This picture was taken in the 1940's, at the old Vance homeplace in Red Ash, Va. My Grandfather, and Father both loved snowball bushes. Fields Joshua Vance is buried about 200 yards from where this picture was taken, in the Vance Cemetery in Red Ash, Va.
