February Bible Study 2004 Cover Sheet GTR

Praise God! Another month over means another month closer to the return of Jesus! He is coming back you know! He is coming back for his church. If we want to be included in those that Jesus is coming back to get, we must follow his words, the words he left for us to live by, the teachings he gave us while he was here, we must read them, learn them, know them, obey them! I was reading God's word looking for questions for the NTO Bible Study, and I came across Matthew Chapter 5, now I have read Matthew Chapter 5 many times, but this time it meant more to me, I realized what Jesus was saying here, he was giving us a guideline to live our lives by, the entire Bible is a guideline to live by, but Matthew Chapter 5 brings a lot of it together all at once! So here are some of the scriptures from Matthew Chapter 5:

Matthew 5:1 AND seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciles came unto him:

Matthew 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their's is the kingdom of heaven. Jesus is not talking about the poor in spirit, like the Spirit of God, but rather the spirit of living, he is talking about those of us that experience hard times in our lives, but continue to believe in God no matter what the circumstances. REMEMBER when the the word spirit starts with the capital letter "S" then it is speaking about the Spirit of God, when it is a small "s" it is referring to other spirits.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. This is not talking about to mourn the death of a loved one, but rather to mourn the death of someone that has passed away without giving their heart to God. This means to mourn for the lost souls that have went on out to face eternity in a place where no one wants to go! To die and leave this earth without Jesus in your heart is to condemn yourself to an eternity in hell. But those of us that know Jesus and mourn for the lost will be comforted for eternity, no more sorrow, no more tears!

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. To show yourself meek is to show the love of God. The fight is not mine, but the Lord's. Vengence is mine saith the Lord. For those of us who love the Lord, we know that God will defeat our foes for us, if we believe in him we will not be defeated. And after all is said and done, and there is a new heaven, and a new earth, we, the meek shall inherit it!

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Any born again christian knows how it feels to hunger, and thirst for more of the Lord! We cannot be satisfied, we want more, and more of what God has for us, and we will not be filled in these fleshly bodies we dwell in here on earth now, but, when we are gloriously changed in the twinkling of an eye, and we are in the presence of the Lord forever we will be totally satisfied, then, and only then will the hunger and the thirst be quinched.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. How simple this is! If we show mercy, we will be given mercy!! Thank you Lord.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. None of us are perfect, but if we ask God to forgive us everytime we sin, and then ask forgiveness of sins we commit and don't remember, then God will see us with a pure heart! And if we have a pure heart (By God's standards not ours) we shall see God!

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Another simple one, promote peace, speak kindly, show kindness, lift others up, edify each other, do everything in your power to hinder anger, in yourself and others, and ye shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for their's is the kingdom of heaven. Are you persecuted because of your belief in Jesus? Do people call you a fanatic? Do people laugh at you? Do people make fun of you? Do people talk about you behind your back, or in front of your face? Ever been called a Jesus freak? How about a bible thumper? If any of these, or many other off-color remarks, sound familar to you, then lift your hands and Praise GOD, because you are being persecuted for righteousness' sake, and your's is the kingdom of heaven!!!

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. When someone reviles you they are abusing you, especially when it is loud scolding, or screaming, saying hurtful things to you loudly to ensure that other's hear! Ridiculing you before others. Telling lies about you to make you look bad, or to destroy your good standing before others. This happens a lot in churches, someone will be serving the Lord with all of their heart, and someone else may become jealous, and start untrue rumors to tear them down. When this happens know that God knows the truth, and you will be blessed if you endure until the end!

Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Simple!! We are to rejoice, and be happy about being persecuted, because we are doing what the Lord has ask of us, this is why we are being persecuted. History shows us that those that lived for Jesus were persecuted, so should we expect anything less? If we endure until the end we will be greatly rewarded in heaven!

Continue to read Matthew Chapter 5, it really is an awesome Chapter filled with how Jesus wanted us to live our lives, this Chapter has such good advice, read it, believe it, live it, and do it for the glory of God!

Heavenly Father, I ask you this day my God to forgive me of anything I may have said, thought, or done that was not in your will, or your way, I pray Father for forgiveness of all of my trespasses, and transgressions against you, or against any other person. If there be any iniquity in my life, or the lives of those reading this prayer my Lord, I ask you to reveal it to us, show us Father so that we may remove it from our lives, we only want to live the kind of lives you would have us to live my God! Thank you Father for the forgiveness, thank you for your love, thank you for sending your precious Son Jesus to take my place on the cross, Thank You, Thank You. I pray Father that this cover sheet will be a blessing to someone, I pray that it will open the eye's of someone that has had scales over their eyes, I ask you my Lord to remove those scales and allow that person to see the truth, to finally see the truth!! I know that there will be such a change in the lives of those that finally see the truth Lord! Thank you Father God, I praise you my Lord, I lift you up above all else, nothing comes before you my Father, you are the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, and to please you is my lifes desire. You my Lord are worthy of all honour, praise, all worship, you my God deserve all of the best that I have, and I freely give it to you including my life, use me Lord for your will, guide me Father in your footsteps, allow me to glorify you my Lord. I love you Father. Continue to pour out your reviving Spirit Lord, it has begun, and we only want more of you my Lord, I am hungry for a mighty move of your Spirit. I want to see revival spread out over the entire world! I desire your mighty presence more than the food I eat, more than the air I breathe. Father I humble myself before you, and cry out for REVIVAL, SEND REVIVAL FATHER! Lord let many be saved from the devils hell, I want to see your power manifest in miracles that will astonish the unsaved peoples of the world! I pray for the healings of many to be an everyday occurance in my life, Father God I just want to feel your presence stronger, and stronger every day! I ache for you my God, I long for your presence, I love you My Lord with all of my heart, thank you my God, Thank You!! In the holy name of Jesus, the name above all names, JESUS, I pray, A-men'
