MADISON FAMILY CEMETERY
The MADISON Family Cemetery is located on Chicken Mountain Road in Orange Co. Va. From Gordonsville Va. take route 15 toward the town of Orange, go about 6 miles and take a left onto Chicken Mountain Road, go about 3 miles on Chicken Mountain Road, the Cemetery is on the right. Or if you are visiting Montpelier, the home of James MADISON, just follow the signs from his home. This Cemetery is very well maintained. It is enclosed with a brick wall about 3 feet high. There are old trees growing around the outside of the brick wall, along with several boxwoods. The cemetery is surrounded with well maintained fields. The road through the field to the Cemetery is paved. At the present time there is some arcealogical diggings going on behind the Cemetery, as well as around the grave of President MADISON. Dolley Payne MADISON w/o James MADISON, b. May 20, 1768, d. Jul. 8, 1849. There is a plaque at the grave of Dolley Payne MADISON, it reads.

Dolley Payne Todd MADISON for her contributions to the furtherance of womanhood, by serving her country as a gracious First Lady and a woman with great political influence. Presented May 20, 1993 by Va. Business and Professional Womans Foundation, and Va. Foundation for the Humanities and public policy.
