- Lusorum Personae (aka Player Characters or PCs)
- Artemis Fletcher - Second generation forester who seems to stay one step ahead of the King's verderers and maintain a life in the royal forests.
- Wulfgar - If you have a job that requires advance reconaissance and bit of stealth to succeed, then he might be able to help. That's if you can find him.
- Robert - Although technically a bastard (illegitimate) with no land to call his own, he rides to battle wherever injustice needs a hero in a land embroiled in civil war.
- Derek Wills - Eager for adventure, this forester yearns to live the exciting life that the stories of his father's mercenary days painted for him as a child.
- The Scholar - Passionate about learning and trained in religious schools thanks to the money his father earned as a money lender, The Scholar travels from monastery to monastery to discover wisdom in the various manuscripts that each place holds.
- Tostig the Delightful- Seeking a life outside the farm, Tostig ran away to a charter town. Going was tough and most of the money came from begging. Shortly after the legal year and one day emancipation he joined a traveling band of entertainers and became one of the finest in the land.
- Harwulf - An adventurous lad who has chosen the life of a wandering priest to atone for his father's sins of running a brothel. (Created but never introduced.)
- Non Lusorum Personae (aka Non-player Characters or NPCs)
- Gilbert de Lacy - Disinherited nobleman who lost the Honour of Lacy (grant of fiefs) when Stephen awarded the land to one of his loyalists. Gilbert was the liege lord to Robert's father.
- Lady Joie de Lacy - Wife to Gilbert.
- Haldenald - Man in the service of Miles of Gloucester, the Sheriff of Gloucester.
- Edmund Whyral - Warden of the Forest of Dean.
- Roger de Berkeley (a.k.a. le Jeune) - Son of Roger de Berkeley (the elder)
- Expeditio Indicium (aka Campaign Information)
- Session One - Just outside of Chepstow, the party came upon an ambush. Lady Joie de Lacy and Roger de Berkely, a.k.a. Roger le Jeune had been attacked by a group of verderers. After dispatching the attackers, the party is enlisted to protect Lady de Lacy enroute to Hereford. Most of the group make it to Monmouth to bed for the night while The Scholar and Wulfgar head to St. Briavey to learn of the reasons behind last nights attacks.
- Session Two - The Scholar and Wulfgar, having gathered that the Sheriff of Gloucester’s man Haldenald spear-headed the attack in the night, leave for Monmouth and find a new companion by the name of Isobel. Lady de Lacy is safely delivered to Hereford where the party spends the evening as guests at a feast with entertainment by Tostig the Delightful. (Click here for details about the session.)
- Maps
- Map of campaign area A scanned copy of the campaign area available for printing or consultation by players.
- Grid Map of campaign area This is the same map as above, only I added a hexagonal overlay to it for measuring travel distances. 1 Hex = 0.7 centimeters (~1/4 inch) = ~1.15 miles
- World Maps
Added for flavor. Feel free to print any of the maps for your character to use in the campaign. Nota bene: The maps are scans of historical maps from the Middle Ages and are pretty much unreadable to the modern person who is used to accurate maps. We actually studied a few of these maps in college and I have no clue how to read them. They look like fantastical child drawings to me more than actual cartography at work.
