LieutenantColonel John Jacob Astor IV and his second wife, Madeliene, were among the First Class Passengers. Astor was the richest man on the Titanic. He was looked down on by some of the other passengers because Madeliene was his second wife, and she was only 19.

Mrs Margaret "Molly" Brown, was the wife of a Denver, Colarado millionaire. Brown was very 'loud' and flambouyant and was looked down on by many of the passengers in first class because she had no breeding. In lifeboat 4, when Quartermaster Robert Hichens ordered her to be seated and not cause trouble, she told him to shutup or she would throw him overboard.
