Constitution of Morals

This constitution is tentative and could change at any time!

The history of Clan Wars and general violence that once saturated the MUD has caused an unrelenting gathering of persons to break away from the general society in pursuit of their own beliefs. These persons have the overwhelming urge to escape the tyranny of clans and factions that would do nothing more than pluck the very life from the weak, the unwilling, and incapable. These persons will in fact only be empowered to aid those so preyed upon so that they may pursuit their own life or to gather them into the fellowship of peace created by them. Confused as to why others seem to feel the need to hurt each other and not understanding the ideals behind wars, the group decided that they will observe the actions of the populace in hope to gain wisdom and insight into the nature of the players online.

These persons will be known as the Watchers. Thriving on the belief that all races and any mixture of these have the inherited right to basic individualism and personal decisions.

FUNCTION OF THE LEADER:

The job of the Leader is to work as mediator between the Immortals and the Clan. This includes mostly the building of the clan hall. It is the responsibility of the *Leader* to ensure that any issues that need to be brought before the Immortals are done so. Said person will hold "ownership" of the clan in name. This person sits as an Elder on council and is effected by all descisions as made by that council

ARTICLE I: Information Gathering

As we are known as 'Watchers' our first and greatest task is that of the Informant. This means that we are to stay on top of every major event that occurs in the MUD. This does NOT mean gossip! This means knowing who's marrying who, any new clans that are springing up and why, if there is a definite clan war going on, who's caught up in it and how would it effect others. Also knowing all the Immortals and their functions, knowing fine details of any changes made by those Immortals, and knowing who's the leader of each clan. This also extends to knowing where areas are, the general difficulty of the mobs, and where various key equipment loads. This of course means you CANNOT just sit there with the channels on. Go out and find out things, explore, talk to people, interact!

ARTICLE II: Newbie/Lowbie Helping

: Firstly let me say this, we are NOT a helper clan. That means that each member is not required to drop everything and tutor people. However, our nature and purpose is to make the MUD a better place for new and developing players. It goes without saying that what we know, as a group would be valuable to others who are starting out. If the individual member feels morally inclined to do so, they can give a boost to other players through advice, corpse retrieval, minor equipment gathering, and if they are really struggling, a level run. This is a personal decision of the member and not a standard requirement of the clan. Still we do encourage and nurture a kind and helpful nature out of clan members.

ARTICLE III: Neutrality

ALL Watchers are Neutral by nature. It doesn't matter what your align number says. If it's positive 350-1000 you are Neutral Good. If it's in the negatives, you are Neutral Evil. That means that we take no sides , nor make any claims of superiority. We are not omnipotent and do not know everything. Some information can be wrong, so just because we are Watchers doesn't mean we aren't infallible. This clan does not make its basis on random gossip and rumors. If you followed the story, the beings saw the events as it occurred. This means FACTS only or as much as you can confirm. In Character there is no favoritism. We are impartial and take each thing as a path to wisdom.

ARTICLE IV: Non-violence

All Watchers must agree to the Code of Neutrality before being accepted. That ensures that each member understands that we firmly believe in the ideal of diplomacy and respect for others over that of the sword. We have not and will not intentionally kill players, loot the corpses of players that have died, get revenge for anyone who as been player killed, nor hunt down thieves, player looters, player killers, or anyone who's just plain being a jerk. Members of this clan know that it is a game and while having these things happen is annoying and liable to make you angry, we foster strong wills, control of emotions, and dynamic understanding that falling into return violence does not help. Indeed we believe it will only cause greater problems; none of which will get back your level or equipment. This doesn't mean that we will not defend ourselves from attacks and we will assist an attacked member who is currently grouped at the time, but we will not seek trouble out.

ARTICLE V: Information Sharing

: Knowledge does nothing if its is just allowed to sit there or is hoarded by a privileged few. We will set up a newspaper-like function that will run every two weeks. These scrolls (later to be crystal balls or something) will herald various findings by the clan of the type mentioned above. Also, if any person comes to a clan member with a question on the general location of a mob, object, or area, it is the duty of the members to disclose this information if they know it. Exceptions to this rule are locations of other clan halls or objects that are known to rest in the vault of any hall. In those cases, the information simply cannot be given out. That ensures other clans that we do respect them and their privacy.

ARTICLE VI: Role-playing

This clan strong encourages role-playing between its members and the rest of the MUD community. This means we like to see the members create a definable personality and character background. These bios will be posted onto the clan web site as we get them.
