Matchmaker

"We've really seen the bad side of Test lately," J.R. commented as a clip of Raw was aired
on the Titan Tron, showing Test viciously taking a steel chair to The Undertaker's knee.

"Yeah, and he's only feuling the fire!" the King chimes in. "This Ministry/Dream Team war is
really getting more intense every week!" Suddenly familiar lyrics hit the sound system: "I
think I'm cute, I know I'm sexy..." This was going to be a very special Smack Down indeed,
starting with the arrival of Commisioner Michaels.

Shawn Michaels dances to the ring, grinning with every step. He steps in between the ropes
as the crowd cheers with delight. It's been a while since they've last seen their
Commisioner, and they were sure happy he was back. "That's right! The sheriff's back in
town!" Michaels starts. "I've been watching the Ministry and Dream Team go at it for the
past few weeks, and I've decided that tonight, here on Smack Down, all of the members are
going to finally meet in the ring!"

At this, the audience goes crazy. Shawn smirks in satisfaction. "Now, the way I see it, nothing
is as exciting as a ladder match- hell, I should know, since I was in the greatest ladder
match of all time. So, I've decided that Test will be taking on none other than Mr.
Shane-O-Mac himself! And hanging above the ladder will be a weapon, in which whomever
wins the match can use against their opponent and beat them to their heart's content with it!"

"Oh my God, JR! Shane in a ladder match a-against Test?!?!" Lawler cries out in surprise.

"You got that right, Jerry! The Boy Wonder is going to be feeling some pain tonight!" JR
replies.

"I love strap matches, don't you?" Shawn asks the audience. They cheer in approval. "Since
we all seem to love them, we'll be seeing one tonight as Jericho takes on Edge in a strap
match!"

The Commissioner looks thoughtful for a moment. "I was really looking forward to seeing The
Undertaker get buried alive, but, unfortunately, he's out with injuries. So-oo..." He cracks a
huge grin. "Instead of The Undertaker going against someone, it will be Joey Abs of the
Posse against Stevie Richards! And to even this one up a little bit, it's gonna be a Greenwich
streetfight!"

The audience cheers louder. Smack Down was shaping up to be a great show. "Last but not
least, we have the ladies of the groups." Shawn explains. "Since they don't seem to be no
prissy catfighters, we're going to see them go at it in a Hardcore match! Nothing better than
watching two lovely girls smack each other around with brooms, is there?"

"No Chance, that's what ya got..." Shane walks to the ring trying to hide his nervousness. Test
is already waiting in the ring for his opponent, fire in his eyes. Throwing caution to the wind,
Shane slips under the bottom rope and is rewarded with a hard boot to the ribs. Test picks
Shane up by his hair. He whips the Boy Wonder into the corner, the impact causing the ring to
shake a little. Test stands up on the ropes and delivers the well known 10 punches to Shane's
head.

Biting back pain, the young McMahon staggers away and heads toward the ladder, head
pounding. Before Test can get out of the way, Shane shoves the ladder onto him and begins
climbing the ropes, preparing for an elbow drop onto the Big Canadian.

Much to Test's misfortune, Shane hits the elbow drop, driving his elbow hard into his
opponent's chest. Shane stands up, satisfied. He heads toward the ladder, but a hand grabs
his foot and trips him, causing him to land on his face in the ring.

The heir apparent looks up and sees Test headed for the ladder. "Hey!" Shane cries angrily,
lunging for the ladder and knocking it over. It bounces hard against the ropes, landing on
Test's ankle. Test cries out in pain and pushes the ladder off his ankle, and onto the mat.
Shane grins and runs to pick it up. He sets it up right under the weapon that's dangling from
the ceiling. He gets up the first 2 rungs when Test pulls him back by his T-shirt, throwing
Shane to the mat. The impact causes Shane to lose his breath temporarily.

His eyes widen in fear when he sees Test at the top of the ladder. Get up! he tells himself
urgently. With that, Shane jumps up and climbs the ladder quickly. He grabs Test's leg and
starts to tug on it, trying to pull the Canadian down. Test kicks Shane in the face with his
other foot, but Shane refuses to let go. He tugs on his enemy's leg harder. Test has his hand
around the hammer by that time. Shane is dragged down and still refuses to let go. Test
hauls off and smashes the Boy Wonder in the head with the weapon, getting the victory for
the Dream Team.

"You think you know me.." The spotlights search the audience, looking for Edge. They finally
spot him as he runs down to the ring, no smile on his face this time. He enters the ring, his
expression looking grim. Then, the countdown of Y2J, Chris Jericho appears on the Titan
Tron and Edge waits anxiously for his enemy.

Jericho's got arrogance written all over his face. "Do you think I want to be tied to this
Jericho-wannabe?" he whines when the referee approaches him and Edge with the strap.
Edge rolls his eyes. "It's the rules, Jericho." The ref. tells him. Jericho sighs loudly, but
nods. He doesn't even have the strap on his wrist for more than 2 seconds when Edge
attacks, knocking Jericho down with a clothesline.

The Y2J Problem trips Edge and puts a sleeper on him. He knows that with the strap on he's
got an advantage over Edge, who can't perform any of his aerial moves.

Jericho applies the sleeper onto Edge tighter. The ref. raises Edge's arm twice, and
naturally on the third time Edge holds it up. He drives his elbow into Jericho's ribs, causing
Y2J to release his grip. Edge goes for a punch, but Jericho ducks and Edge instead, hits the
air.

Angry at himself, the Enigma kicks Jericho in the stomach and DDT’s him. Going for the pin,
he counts along with the ref. One, two... To Edge's surprise, Jericho kicks out at 2 1/2.
Edge growls angrily and allows Jericho to get up before spearing him viciously. This oughta
do it. He pins Jericho and sure enough, gets the 3 count this time.

Joey paced around the ring impatiently. He could only hope that Ashlee would be at ringside,
but even that wasn't to be. What he got was Stevie Richards dressed in a sweater vest and
khakis. That only served to incite his temper, and the Posse member was attacking Richards
before the opening bell.

Joey throws Stevie outside of the ring, and right onto the floor at ringside. Joey hops out
and picks Stevie up and goes to throw Stevie into the steps, but Stevie reverses it and
Joey's the one slamming into the steps.

With a frustrated sigh, Joey ignores the pain and rolls Stevie back into the ring. Grabbing a
chair, Joey smashes it over Stevie's head. A loud 'crack' echoes throughout the arena as the
chair connects with Stevie's skull. He falls to the mat, writhing in pain. Joey grins, happy with
himself. Instead of going to pin Richards, he slams the chair down onto Stevie's ankle. Stevie
shouts out in pain and tries to roll away from Joey. Joey finally drops the chair and goes to
pin his opponent. To his disappointment, Stevie kicks out at 2. Richards gets up weakly and
staggers into the ropes.

Joey turns around for a second, not really paying attention. Meanwhile, Stevie gets a strange
grin on his face and then, as soon as Joey turns around, nails him with a Stevie Kick and gets
the three count.

Stevie stands up happily. I did it! I won! I won! He thinks to himself. To his surprise, he sees
Ashlee running to the ring, smiling from ear to ear. By the time she makes it in the ring,
Joey's sitting up and glaring at Stevie. He grins when he sees Ashlee. She's here to see me,
isn't she? he wonders. She makes sure Joey's looking when she walks over to Stevie and
grabs him by the sides of his face and kisses him. "Congrats on your win, Stevie!" She tells
him, smirking at Joey, whose mouth is wide open in astonishment.

Flustered, the Posse member quickly exits the ring. Stevie hugs Ashlee, wishing her luck
before slipping off. The Corporation music starts up, and Jen shoves Stevie on her way to
the ring, annoyed that he had to be in her way for even a second. This is all business to her.

Ashlee smirks at Jen, watching her approach the ring. She taps her foot impatiently. "Will
you hurry up and get in here so I can kick your ass?" Jen doesn't reply, just glares back
angrily. Before entering the ring, Jen reaches under the ring and brings out a cookie sheet,
ready to smash it over Ashlee's head once she got close enough.

Stevie sneaks up behind Jen, quiet as a mouse, and grabs the cookie sheet away from her.
She turns around to try to grab it back but gets hit right in the head. Only slightly dazed, the
Ministry's girl gets into the ring and catches her opponent off-guard with a Spinning Heel
Kick.

Ashlee falls to the mat in pain. She groans loudly as she places a hand on her forehead and
feels wetness. That damn bitch! She cut me open with that damn kick. She stands up angrily
and advances toward Jen. She grabs Jen's hair and whips her into the corner. Ashlee jumps
out the ring and makes her way to the announcer's desk. She pushes Jerry Lawler out of his
chair and picks it up, heading back to the ring.

"Whoa! Major catfight!" Lawler yells. Ashlee rolls her eyes before dragging the chair into
the ring. Jen sees the chair shot coming and moves out of the way, catching Ashlee in a
Sunset Flip. Surprised, Ashlee just manages to kick out at two and vows not to let it happen
again. She grabs the chair again, and this time succeeds in hitting Jen with it. She goes to pin
Jen and successfully gets a 2 count when someone pulls on her leg, yanking her off of Jen.
She turns around angrily to see Shane smiling at her.

"Sneaky little weasel," she growls, slapping him hard across the face. The Boy Wonder grabs
Ashlee's arms and holds her in place while Jen grabs the chair and hits Ashlee in the face
with it. She immediately goes for a pin, yelling thanks to Shane.

Ashlee kicks out at 2 3/4, pushing Jen off of her. She slips out of the ring and walks toward
Shane, glaring at him. Her eyes wander to behind Shane, where Jericho's there waiting for
him, the strap from his match in his hand. Jen cries out a warning, but is too late as Jericho
slaps the strap across Shane's back, surely making a mark on the Boy Wonder's back.
Ashlee smirks, and turns back to the ring, looking under it to find a good weapon.

Shaking with fury, Jen climbs to the top turnbuckle and takes a flying leap much like the ones
Shane did. She lands hard on Ashlee's back and they both instantly feel the pain. Jen gets up
and heads after Jericho, promising vengeance for what he did to Shane.

Jericho looks up from his whipping with the strap he's giving Shane. "Yes?" he questions Jen.
Instead of replying, she runs at Jericho and knocks him into the border near the audience.
Jericho flips over the side and lands painfully. Jen grins then goes to check on Shane, not
knowing Ashlee's gotten up already and is approaching Jen with a broom in hand. Ashlee lifts
it above her head and just about breaks it over Jen's back when it's yanked from her hands.
She spins around and to her surprise, she sees Joey frowning at her, holding the broom in his
hand.

He slowly shakes his head. "Ashlee, you disappoint me," he says. "I'm sorry, but....this has to
be done." He smashes the broom over her head then yells at the referee as Jen goes for the
cover. Someone rams into Joey, knocking him down, just as the referee counts the pin.

"Like hitting people over the head with brooms, eh?" Andrew asks as he smashes another
broom over Joey's head. Andrew then runs over and pulls Jen off of Ashlee just before the
ref. gets to 3. He grabs Jen and puts her into the Pump Handle Slam, slamming her extra
hard onto the mat. He places Ashlee's arm across her and yells at the ref. to count.

The referee counts to three and helps Ashlee to her feet. Test raises her arm in victory and
grins. Ashlee starts to laugh when she sees who is standing at the entranceway. Jen sits up
and waits for her vision to clear, glancing towards the Titan Tron.

Fear overcomes Jen as she sees Hunter Hearst Helmsley making his way down to the ring, a
smirk on his face. "W-What do you want?" she questions him, making her way to her feet and
stepping back a little.

"I think you know what I want," Hunter says, grinning.

Jen steps back even more, obviously very uncomfortable. "No way, Hunter, it's not gonna
happen!"

"It is going to happen, Jen, just face it." Andrew says, as he grabs Jen's arms to keep her in
place. Ashlee smirks as she watches Jen struggle unsuccessfully.

"Jen, be happy! Besides, we all know you enjoy this," she says, exiting the ring and making her
way toward Shane with a chair in hand. Hunter goes to take a step closer to Jen, but he gets
attacked from behind, getting knocked down to the mat.

"Thanks, Adam!" Jen yells. Andrew lets her go and runs toward Adam. Jen grabs a chair of
her own and follows Ashlee, who's about to hit Shane. Instead, she sees stars when metal
connects with the back of her head.

Ashlee spins around when she hears Jen hit the floor behind her. She looks up at Jen's
attacker and smiles. "Thanks Stevie." He nods and walks over to Hunter to check on him.
Ashlee turns back to Shane, but before she can strike, Shane hits her in the knee with the
hammer from his ladder match earlier.

Crying out in pain, Ashlee glares at the Boy Wonder. He smiles back at her in response.
"You're gonna get it, you bastard!" She raises the chair again and slams it down on the
ground, but Shane rolls out of the way and the chair hits the floor hard. She drops the chair
and grabs her right wrist. "Damn it!" She looks at Shane. "I think I've sprained my wrist now,
thanks to you, you weasel!" she shouts.

The heir apparent laughs cruelly. "Too bad, so sad," he says, climbing into the ring. Test
throws an arm around Ashlee's shoulder and they, along with the rest of the Dream Team
make their way back to the locker room. The pinfall record may say otherwise, but the
Ministry had won that night. The question was, how long would they keep winning?
