Extracting Images From Your Scrap Book

Hi. Welcome to my tutorial on Extracting Images From Your Webtv Scrap Book. I am writing this tutorial as I learn to do it myself. I want it to be written simply so that it can be easily understood. Bear with me as I lead you step by step in this journey.

There are several steps in this process and I am going to try and explain them to you.

(1) Your first step is to save your images from your email to your scrapbook. When ever it is possible for you to do this, you will see the word scrap book on the side bar. You will click on that. A pop up will appear on your screen and you will choose the one that says "save to scrapbook." Once the image is saved a message will appear that will tell you that the image was successfully saved.

(2) The next step is to make a web page with you Webtv Page Builder. A simple page will do with just the image or images that you wish to extract.

(3) Be sure and publish your page. Here is a simple page that I have made and published as a demo. http://community-2.webtv.net/doranemann/images/

(4) The images will then have a url you can use in your email signature or to just pass on to friends.

The basic code will have a url something like this: http://community.webtv.net/username/nameofpublisedpage/scrapbookFiles/nameofimage

Note on the page that I published there is 2 pictures. A picture of a bike and a sunset. I am going to give you the urls to both pictures.

Here is the url of the bike. http://community-2.webtv.net/doranemann/images/scrapbookFiles/mailedD27.jpg

Here is the url of the sunset. http://community-2.webtv.net/doranemann/images/scrapbookFiles/mailedD51.jpg

Notes

There are two notes that I want to leave you with before I close.

(1)Be sure that when you write you url you make sure you write it exactly as I have written. I made a mistake the first time I attempted this. Here is the sample url again. "http://community.webtv.net/username/nameofpublishedpage/scrapbookFiles/nameofimage". I made the mistake of not capatilizing the F in scrap book image. My url didn't work that way. So that is why it is very important to make sure the url is correct.
(2)When creating the page and adding the image, you need to remember to get the name of the pic. To do this when you choose the pic you have a option of viewing the pic. Click on that. On the bar at the bottom of the screen you will have the name. For example--"mailedD27_jpg" You would change the _ to a period and you would have the name. It would be "mailedD27.jpg"

I hope that this page helps some one. If you have any questions feel free to email me at doranemann@webtv.net.
