     DAVID BENNETT , b. abt. Abt 1616 in England, and d. 04 Feb 1718/19 in Rowley, Essex Co., MA.[2/1:442] He was a Physician who resided in  Rowley.[1/167]

     He married (1) MARY PLUMMER ON 29 Apr 1672 in Rowley, Essex Co., MA.[2/1:248] Her birth date us unknown. She died on 27 Sep 1682 in Rowley.[2/1:442] She was the widow of John Cheney of Rowley.[2/1:248] and  the daughter of FRANCIS and RUTH PLUMMER of Newbury.

     David married (2) Rebecca SPENCER on 14 Feb 1681/82 in Rowley, Essex Co., MA.[2/1:248, 259][3/2:68]  She was the daughter of Capt Roger SPENCER. Her sister Mary spencer was the wife of Sir William Phips, adventurer and future governor of Massachusetts. Being childless, Sir William adopted Rebecca's oldest child, Spencer Bennett.[1/167] (Note: V.R. Rowley, v. 1, p. 248, 259 - gives her name as "Rebekah Buller" & m. date of "Feb. 14, 1682" does not list her as a widow and she is carried the same in Ipswich with the same date of marriage.[3/2:68])
