BRIGHAM

Note: The Brigham family reputedly goes back to Thomas Brigham, Sr. who was b. in 1475 in Holme Upon Spaulding Moor, Yorkshire, Eng. I'll post the rest of the line if and when I see some documentd source material.

THOMAS BRIGHAM Sr., was born in Holme-on-Spaulding Moor, Yorkshire, Eng. and died on 19 Mar 1632/33 in Holme. Thomas married  ISABEL WATSON before 3 Feb 1599/00 in Holme, as her second husband. [I haven't been able to determine what event was marked by the date, 3 Feb 1599/00  that would place their marriage prior to that point, her father's will, for instance, wasn't written until 1615.] Isabel was bapt. 21 Feb 1560/61 in Holme, and buried 25 Jun 1634 in Holme. She was the daughter of James and Margaret Watson of Holme.

Isabel had married (1) Richard Ellithorpe on 27 Oct. 1583 in Holme, as his second wife. Isabel had five children by Richard Ellithorpe, the youngest, Mary, being baptised on 10 Nov 1596  Richard Elithorpe's will was dated 10 Sep. 1597 and proved 8 Dec. 1597.

Simon Crosby was the 4th cousin of Robert Crosby who married Anne's sister Constance. He was born probably in Holme-on-Spaulding Moor, resided perhaps in London prior to emigration in 1635. He died in Sept. 1639 probably in Cambridge, MA. He was the son of Thomas Crosby and Jane Sotheron of Holme. Simon Crosby sailed to New England on 18 Apr 1635 on the SUSAN AND ELLEN, age 26, with wife Anne age 25, and son Thomas 8 weeks. They were accompanied by Anne's brother Thomas Brigham age 32.
