Creating your own Drum Kits

By: qBurg

Mapping drum sounds into programs to make kits can be a real drag. This
trick will make life a little bit easier for you.

Let's say you've got a bunch of WAV files in one folder on your PC hard
drive. Fire up an editor (Sound Forge, Cool Edit, whatever), select all your
single drum sounds in one go (hats, kix, snares etc). Save them as a
big chunk of wave. Fire up ReCycle, load up your big wave, pull up the
slider to separate each hit and squash everything into your Akai. ReCycle
automatically makes a program and maps all your hits under different
keys. Now you're ready to roll.

Have fun and keep dropping those blunted beats.
