MATERIALS:

J. & P. COATS KNIT-CRO-SHEEN, 2 balls brown
J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. SIX STRAND EMBROIDERY FLOSS
1 skein each of Black, Red, White, and Yellow
Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
3 Bone Rings


HOLDERS... Starting at center, ch2.

1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join rounds.

2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around.

3rd rnd: *Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around.

4th rnd: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from* around.

Continue this, increasing as necessary to keep work flat, until piece measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter. Then work rnds without increasing. Fasten off. Make 5 more pieces same as this.

FINISHING... Embroider features on 3 pieces in chain and back stitch as in illustration, using black and red for eyes, noses and lips. Use white for hair and eyebrows on Pa; red and yellow for bandanna on Ma, and black for hair and eyebrows on Baby. Put padding*** in place and sew back and face pieces together around edge. Sew ring to back at top.

*** PADDING... Cut flannel, muslin or any soft material, slightly smaller than crocheted pieces. Place between crochet, tacking to wrong side of one piece. Finish pot holder as in directions.
