My Bio
Born June 22, 1948 in Liberal, Kansas
but came to Texas at age of five.
Enlisted in the Marine Corps at age of 17 on July 9, 1965.
Trained initially as an Anti Tank Track Vehicle (Ontos) .
Joined 1st Battalion, 26th Marines, 5th Marine Division on
April 4, 1966 and went to Vietnam with that unit.
Came in country in September 1966.
When it was discovered that the Viet Cong had no tanks was
transferred to Infantry unit, Co E, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines,
3rd Marine Division on October 10. 1966 as a fire team Leader.
Wounded in Action in Quang Nam Province, Village LaChao 5 near
hill 22A on November 11, 1966.
Medevaced and then returned to action on Feb 7, 1967.
Rejoined unit at Camp J. J. Carroll. Medevaced again on March 7,
1967 to Okinawa. Spent remainder of overseas tour there.
Remained in the U. S. Marine Corps until September 29, 1987 and
then retired to civilian life.
Worked through College in a variety of occupations, settling in
the Quality Engineering and Technical writing fields.
Started Quality Process Development as a Consulting Firm in 1994
after hearing for the 1000th time that I was overqualified for a
position.
