My Trip to Gulf Breeze, Florida

Gulf Breeze, Florida

"I Get Around" by The Beach Boys

Gulf Breeze has become a household name, at least among Ufologists ever since Ed Walters's infamous sightings in the late Eighties. I went there because of not only just the prospect of finding a UFO, but also because I needed a vacation. And where better to go to a small, quiet, oceanfront Florida town?

Gulf Breeze is just at the edge of the Florida panhandle, right next to Pensacola Beach. I decided to go to a Hampton Inn in Pensacola Beach to spend a few nights. The next day, I went to Flounder's to eat lunch and dinner, and then headed over to Gulf Breeze.

Gulf Breeze is a quiet town, pretty much one a person dreams of living. It is of course, less alien oriented than Rachel, Nevada, but it is a lovely town and has a wonderful night sky, which gives you a strange feeling of wonder just by looking at it. I headed back to the hotel when night came and sat at my "abduction chair" at the balcony staring at the sky, pretty much doing skywatching, but without any fancy-schmancy photo equipment and without finding any UFOs. I spent the last day of my vacation riding around admiring the beautiful sights of Pensacola Beach and just plain had a good old time. Even if you don't see a UFO, you are guaranteed a good time at Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach. Just be careful about the sharks.

Alien Spaceship? Nah... just a rental home.
