Forever Is Now

Olivia walked out of the theater with tears streaming down her face, but the look was not uncommon. There was not a person who had not come out crying. Even the actors were crying when they came out on stage to take their bows. If Cats was Now and Forever, then Forever ended now. She had seen the last Cats ever. As newer and newer musicals came out, a committee had been formed. They deiced that there was no more room for Cats. Now had begun in London, where Forever had ended. As she walked to her hotel with her parents, Olivia couldn't help but look back at the theater. It seemed to call her from another world.

All that night Olivia seemed agitated. She couldn't get the feeling she had out of her head. Finally she gave into the urge. At 5:30 AM Olivia slipped into her clothes and snuck down the hallway. She stepped out the door onto the street and without a backwards glance began walking to the theater. As the theater loomed up in front of her Olivia knew she should turn back, but the feeling was too strong. It controlled her mind and body. As she tried the front door she found it locked. In desperation she ran around back and tried that door as well. She was about to give up when she spotted a door marked "Stage Entrance". To her relief, it was open.

For the next half hour Olivia walked up and down the stage, memorizing every detail of it. Then as her watch beeped 6:00 she walked down the aisle, ready to leave. The feeling was gone.

Suddenly booming music played behind her and she turned and looked. The cats were on stage performing the last "A cat's entitled to expect..." The feeling grew overwhelming and her mind grew foggy. Olivia moved as if in another world and took her place on the stage.

As the last note was finished the theater went dark. It appeared that nobody had ever been there. The only proof was the words NOW AND FOREVER etched across the stage, and the strange disappearance of Olivia, who had never been seen since that night...
