ThunderEyes' Past

ThunderEyes sat in front of his mother and listened to her explanation.

"Why, though?" he asked, ThunderEyes was a small kitten and was very curious.

"Well, we have to leave. Your father told me that we have to leave for a little while, I don't know why though," His mother said.

"When will you be back?" he asked.

"We don't know…" her voice trailed off.

"Why?" Thunder asked innocently.

"I don't know why!" his mother yelled at him. She turned around and walked away from him.

"Mom! MOM!" Thunder yelled at his mother, she wouldn't even turn around. Great he thought, now I'm all by my self. Now what am I supposed to do?

ThunderEyes wandered around aimlessly. I'm hungry, maybe I should get some food. Thunder started to search for food. It seemed that all of the good food had been taken. ThunderEyes looked up to the sky and saw the first snowflakes falling to the ground. Great, I'm hungry and I'll be cold.

"Excuse me, I saw you out in the street and I was wondering if you needed a place to stay dry while it snowed?" A young tom came up to him and asked him.

Who is this? "I do need a spot to stay in." I guess I could say yes. But what happens if he is a bad guy. Many thoughts like these ran through Thunder's mind.

"I hope that you don't mind staying in the basement of a hotel," the tom said.

"No, just as long as it is dry."

"Great, just follow me," The tom led the way to the hotel and showed Thunder the way in. After they had gotten in the tom introduced himself.

"Hello, my name is Ramheke, what's yours?"

"ThunderEyes, but you can call me Thunder."

"Okay, Thunder it is, I hope you don't mind I have to practice my magic or my mentor will have my tail."

"No, I don't mind." Magic? Thunder thought Okay, well…

Ramheke stared at Thunder, concentrating hard on him and making him very nervous. "You seem to be a magic cat too. Have you ever tried to do magic?" he asked.

"No I haven't."

"Would you like to try?" he asked.

Try magic… okay well… "I guess… Is it hard?" he asked.

"No not really."

Inside the Junkyard Bombalurina was sitting on the Ford sunbathing when Pouncival came up behind her slowly and softly and pounced on her.

"Ack! Get off me!" she screamed at Pounce.

Demeter and Munkustrap heard the screams of Bomb and ran to the old Ford. "What is going on here?" Munkustrap asked.

"I was just practicing my pouncing skills. That's all" Pounce said.

"Yah so you decided to pounce on me!" Bomb said sitting up and pointing a paw at Pounce.

"Sorry, I didn't know that you don't like to be pounced," He said softly as he walked away.

Demeter ran and caught up to Pounce. "Stop," she said putting a paw on his shoulder.

"What? Did you want to yell at me some too?" he said, turning to look at Dem.

"No, I just wanted to tell you why Bomb is so mad." Dem said.

"Yah, why?" he asked.

"Well, because her and Rum had a bad fight." Dem said.

The Rum Tug Tugger and Bombalurina had been together since the last Ball. They hadn't had any real fights, at least up until now.

"Oh, I didn't know." Pounce said, his anger drifting away.

"I understand, I have hit the wrong buttons many times," Dem smiled at the small tom and patted his head.

Pounce looked up at Dem and made a face when she patted his head.

Thunder began to work his magic very well, Ramheke had been secretly teaching him spells. Thunder was now good enough to go and see Ramheke's teacher. Ramheke and Thunder left the hotel and walked to an abandoned fish cannery. Thunder could tell that something was wrong. He felt a bad presence around this place.

"Macavity!" Ramheke yelled through the cannery. "It's me, Ramheke!"

"Ah, my son, where have you been?" a tall ginger cat asked, walking out from the shadows behind Thunder.

"I have been teaching Thunder here your magic," he said. Thunder turned around and looked at Macavity. Macavity walked around Thunder and sized him up. Macavity looked at Thunder and shot a lightning bolt at him. Thunder casually waved his hand and the bolt turned and shot in another direction, hitting a pile of boxes stacked in a corner.

"He seems to have learned well, is that true?" Macavity asked, looking at Ramheke.

"Yes father, he has,"

Thunder looked at Macavity and thought, well maybe he isn't that bad,
