My name is Michelle V. Dacanay and I was born into the illustrious sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on April 24, 1999. My proud parents are the sorors of Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter in Fort Washington, Md. where I am currently an active member. I was born the 8th line sister of 17 and we are called the 17 Chosen and Anointed. I was chosen by my beautiful line sisters to be the Line President and I go by the line name of Songbird.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the campus of the pretigious Howard University on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two dynamic, dedicated women. Membership in our illustrious sorority consists of college-educated predominantly African American women with chapters across the United States, Bahamas, Republic of Korea, Japan, Bermuda, Haiti, Liberia, Germany, Haiti, and the Virgin Islands.
