I'm caught between to waves; Smashing me on both sides. I'm being pulled in two directions By opposing tides. I want to go both ways; But my body is just one. Even though my soul Belongs to both moon and sun. I'm standing on a ledge; No escape route to be found. Whichever way I step Pain is all around.
The sun rises in the east No matter where you are And no matter how close You always seem so far The tide come in at night On the beach beneath the sky And no matter how much pain My heart will always ask "why?" But I can't stop these feelings No matter how hard I try So I sigh, And ask "why?" The north star's always there For me to wish on each night No matter how often it fails I wish to hold you tight One day summer's always over Despite us not wanting it to end And my heart still feels broken No matter how much I want it to mend But I can't stop the feelings No matter how hard I try So I sigh, And ask "why?" So I sigh, And ask "why?" But I can't stop the feelings No matter how hard I try So I sigh, And ask "why?" By Shelly Claman
