The Universal Court

In the year 2,620, the known universe is controlled by the Universal Court. The Universal Court is a organization much like older governments. Its sole purpose is to make, interpret, enforce laws and, settle public disputes. The UC values the vote of the majority over all. This most certainly includes the majority vote of the peoples of all the worlds which is serves. The UC strongly suggests that every citizen cast their vote as it WILL be heard. For many years the Imperium ruled as a Iron Fisted dictatorship, but those days have passed. Now the Mighty Imperium (Click the picture above for more information.) has come to be a symbol of justice. They serve the mighty and lawful UC as enforcers of the law and protectors of the free. The C.O.R.P. (Cybernetic Organism Research Program) has become perhaps the strongest power in the DarkReign universe. With its near unlimited resource and political sway The CORP was often a problem for anyone trying to construct a stable government until the UC came into power. The UC voted unanimously to make The Pentagon, CEO of The CORP, their Chairmen. In this way the UC acquired the full support and power of the All Mighty CORP. With this sort of spending power at the UC’s discretion it was assured to be a success. Some other groups also play a important but less direct role in the UC. A group formed in the days of the Imperium Freedom Guard War, the Directorate of Defense, works for the same goals as the Imperium. The Directorate of Defense (Click the picture below for more information.) has 2 sections. The 1st section of the Directorate of Defense is the Defense Fleet. The DF is a mighty fleet of warships capable of taking on the Imperium and other powerful fleets. The sole purpose of this fleet is to ensure that no other fleet ever enforces its unjust will over the people. Like governments of the past the DD stands as a check and balance of the Universal Court. The 2nd section of the DD is the once rebel like force Freedom Guard. This force now stand tall and proud with new technologies and better pay as a army of Freedom against all those who would seek to oppress the civilians. Freedom Guard gained legendary status during the Reign of the Imperium. The people where overjoyed to see their heroes adopted so eagerly by the DD. The Universal Court also saw the need to employ a much more powerful organization for the purposes of special operations. This organization, once known as Osiris, now known as ShadowHand , is a sick and twisted group. Bent on being evil and ruthless above all other things ShadowHand is the antithesis of the Universal Court. ShadowHand however is the best at what it does and even the Court could not over look this fact. ShadowHand now stands as a firm implement of terror to all those who would dare to oppose the Court or attack its people. The Universal Court has managed to take control of the known sectors except one. The Togran Sector has not joined the Universal Court. Togra, a influential leader, will never truly trust the UC or its members after the Imperium Freedom Guard war. Togra is the leader of a semi-religious group. This group, known as Tograns, is a peaceful group of philosophers and scientists. The Tograns seek only peace and harmony in the universe but will not take up arms to enforce this. Their special forces known as VanGuard have always been there to protect the weak. VanGuard tries at all times to find non-lethal solutions to problems. Their main function is often the rebuilding of civilization and watching the ruthless ShadowHand. In many ways Togra is like a father to the universe. Him and his people sit back and watch as the peoples of the Court live out their lives, giving a helping hand whenever needed.
