The Home Page For Whant's, Coxen's and Harvie's

Thank you for stopping by, on the following pages you will find some of the more basic information I have collected so far on my family. If you think you may be connected to my family tree in some way, or if you would like to know more please contact me. My email address can be found at the bottom of this page.

I would also like to add further information about anyone who shares an interest in the Whant, Coxen and Harvie surnames. We have already found that several prominent people have shared the Coxen name. These include Sir William George Coxen, the 1939-40 Lord Mayor of London, who is known to to be a relative.

Others include the biologist Charles Coxen whom the Coxen Fig Parrot is named after, as well as his sister Elizabeth Coxen who married John Gould the famous ornithologist.

In the 1670's a pirate by the name of Captain John Coxen was at large in the seas off Honduras. Roatan, one of the islands that makes up the Bay Islands Group has it's main town named after Captain John. It's name is Coxen's Hole.
