Pinto/Paint Horse

Pinto / Paint

The Paint is a fast learner, good student and hard worker, as long as you give him a reason to be. The breed was said to be average in the stamina department.

Generally easy going, reasonable and easily managed. When asked to do something he doesn't want to do, he usually does it anyway. While he may not be the most eager breed, he's more likely to comply than fight.

In general, Paint horses aren't ordinarily spooky nor courageous. They have an average flight impulse. They show an average reaction to painful stimuli; neither excessive nor stoic.

Several trainers swear there is a marked distinction between overos; high fear / flight impulse, prone to explode when pressed; and tobianos; similar to a cow-bred quarter horse.
