The forest is dark and silent.  The smell of mould and decay hangs in the air.  You shiver and look around.  All you can see are sinister shapes.  You take a step forward and freeze as the lonely howl of a wolf echoes in the air.  Your heartbeat quickens as you cautiously take another step forward, something brushes against your face making you cry out fearfully.

Panicked, you stumble forward, arms stretched out blindly in front of you.  Branches whip at you as you as you run clumsily forward, your heart racing, the sound of your breathing the only thing you can hear.  You run until you can’t run any further and stand, gasping for breath, your palms sweaty, your heartbeat panicked.  You collapse exhausted on the ground.  Gradually your breathing and heartbeat slow down, nervously you look around and discover that you are in a clearing.  Moonlight is filtering down through the branches and the air is soft and sweet smelling.  Emboldened, you sit upright and remove the leaves that cling to your face and hands.  You take a few moments to rediscover the stillness that lies within you and lift your hands in thanks to the Moon.

As you sit quietly, communing with Mother Earth, you become aware that you are not alone in the clearing.  There are other beings keeping company with you.  Inquisitively you look around you, trying to discern their shapes, non look human to your eyes.  One in particular moves towards you.  The being that chooses to come to you has knowledge to impart.  Listen closely to what it has to say to you.

[pause]

When the being is finished, thank it for the knowledge and bid it farewell.

[pause[

Take a few moments to come to an understanding of what the being imparted to you.

[pause]

Stand up and move in a circle around the clearing, blessing the path for all who may follow.  End with a devocation to your higher power and say thank you.

Come back to the place where you began this journey in perfect peace and tranquillity.
