Supertest Bookcovers

I can remember being given these paper bookcovers at school to protect our books.
The graphics and logo suggest these first two covers were  from the 1950's .
While this form of advertising was definately aimed at the future driver, they may have influenced a few future collectors as well.

All of the advertising , front and back , was for Supertest , while earlier versions
promoted a different company shown on the back cover.

Here are two earlier bookcovers , probably from the late twenties or thirties illustrated by Jimmie Frise .
He did several other illustrations for Supertest and other companies.

The Ballade of Supertest

This ballad was printed on the inside flap of the fifties era bookcovers.
