New figure, new hiar, and my husband's delighted says Kate.

They say big is beautiful, but as far as Kate Winslet is concerned,
less is more. The voluptuous star of Titanic deciced just before
Christmas that it was time for a new, trimline look. And that meant
not only cropping her tumbling red curls, but shedding a few pounds.
The high maintenance image of the romantic heroine lasted only until
all the fuss over her November wedding to film director Jim Threapleton
had died down. By the time they had returned from their highlands honey
moon Kate, 23, had embarked on a no nonsense makeover.
"You know-new wife, new woman, new hairdo," she says, "Jim loves it."
Kates natural curls took a battering on the set of Titanic. Constant
soakings left them needing several re-dries to maintain thier glorious
colour. Every morning to they had to be helped back into shape with
hot tongs. The film left her hair in such poor condition that it needed
intensive conditioning to look presentable for the November wedding.
The new hairstyle, slick back with wet-look gel, is "so much easier to
manage" she says, "And if need be I can always wear a wig for a film."
Her calorie intake too, is now firmly under control. Kate, whose latest
release Hideous Kinky opens in London today, lost weight for the wedding
by adopting a vegetable diet based around brussel sprouts, and is even
said to have had them sent out, frozen to India where she recently filmed
Holy Smoke. Regular swims, combined with lots of walks and bike rides,
have kept her in shape since then.
