1985 LINGENFELTER 383 CORVETTE

I purchased this car in 1989. Bone stock it ran the 1/4 mile in 14.77 seconds. Over the next 4 years I worked with the original 350 engine and bolted on a variety of aftermarket products. With the addition of a Hypertech chip, TPIS 1 3/4" headers, Targa mufflers, "modified" catalytic converter, Competition Cams 1.6 roller tip rocker arms, TPIS airfoil, TPIS fuel pressure regulator, K & N air filter, modified filter lid, modified mass airflow sensor and the timing set on 14 degrees this car ran a best 1/4 mile of 12.82 @ 104.5 mph.

Currently, this car has a Lingenfeter 383 engine making approximately 450HP. The engine has a compression ratio of 10.9:1, heavily modified Corvette D-Port aluminum heads, Lingenfelter camshaft, Lingenfelter/Accel intake, Arizona Speed & Marine runners, ported stock plenum, 52mm throttle body, 26lb. fuel injectors and a custom computer chip by Jim Formato of Tampa, Florida. With this combination the car has run a best 1/4 mile time of 11.34 @ 118mph on M&H Racemaster street legal D.O.T. tires. This car has a stock 1989 700R4 transmission with a B&M shift kit. It also has the stock 1985 Dana 36 rearend with 3.07 gears. This is the most reliable car I have ever seen on this planet. In almost 10 years of racing and street action (this is a street car), absolutely nothing has ever broken on this car. Try that with nitrous or a blower!
