THIS IS MY BUDDY RENNY PLAYING WITH THE CARBURETORS ON HIS R1 WHILE STRAPPED DOWN TO THE DYNO. WE DYNOED OUR BIKES THE SAME DAY, ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER. WE DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO DYNO RENNY'S BIKE BEFORE THE M4 FULL SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED. HOWEVER, FOR A REFERENCE POINT MY BIKE MADE 132.7 HP BONE STOCK THE SAME DAY ON THE SAME DYNO.


THE RED LINE REPRESENTS RENNY'S R1 IN BONE STOCK FORM WITH THE ADDITION OF THE M4 FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM. NO CARBURETOR CHANGES WERE MADE AT THIS POINT. THE GREEN LINE IS WITH THE ADDITION OF .025" SHIMS UNDER THE STOCK NEEDLES. THE STOCK MAIN JETS WERE USED. THE AIR SCREWS WERE SET A 2 1/4 TURNS EACH FROM THE FACTORY. WE BACKED THEM OUT TO 3 1/4 TURNS EACH.


THESE ARE THE "THROUGH THE GEARS" DYNO RUNS. THIS IS WHERE OUR MAX HP OF 144.9 HP WAS OBTAINED.


HERE IS RENNY'S CHART AFTER THE FINAL JETTING CHANGES. I WISH I HAD A CHART OF THE TORQUE CURVE. RENNY ENDED UP WITH 81.4 FT/LBS OF TORQUE. THE FINAL JETTING PRODUCED ONLY .8 ADDITIONAL PEAK HORSEPOWER BUT 4-6 ADDITIONAL HORSEPOWER IN THE MID-RANGE AND A BUNCH OF ADDITIONAL MID-RANGE TORQUE.


HERE IS A COMPARISON OF THE 4TH GEAR RUNS BETWEEN STOCK JETTING (GREEN), SHIMMED NEEDLES (BLUE), AND OUR FINAL JETTING (RED). HERE YOU CAN SEE THE ADDITIONAL MID-RANGE HP GAINS. UNFORTUNATELY, WITH 3 LINES ALREADY ON THE GRAPH THEY COULDN'T FIT THE TORQUE CURVE INTO THE CHART. THE FINAL JETTING PRODUCED SIMILAR MID-RANGE TORQUE INCREASES WITH A PEAK INCREASE OF 4.6 FT/LBS. OF TORQUE.
