verytime I sit down and watch RAW IS WAR on Tuesday afternoon (I live in Toronto so we don't get the feed until Tuesday), I am more and more amazed at the intellect possessed by Vince McMahon, CEO of Titan Sports.

I like to call Vince, a "player." Even though it was his father who really invented the sport of wrestling, McMahon has brought the sport of wrestling to a whole new level. Case in point, the whole Shawn Michaels being pissed off at the WWF situation. Instead of giving in, to the real "cry-baby" of the WWF, Michaels, Vince stood and said nothing as more and more people picked up on it. He knew that Shawn was just crying for more of the spotlight which at the moment was shining brightly on Stone Cold Steve Austin. McMahon knew that the Heartbreak Kid would ultimatly have his heart broken since he had signed a four-year contract that would stand up in any court of law and so the rumours of his joining the NWO were false because if he even contacted World Championship Wrestling, he would be constituting a breach of contract. Pure genius!

Eric Bischoff on the other hand is an f'n SOB who really rips off all of McMahon's ideas. When Hulk Hogan was selling more and more red and yellow t-shirts in the 80's, Ted Turner wanted a piece of the action. He immediatly dangled wads and wads of cash in front of the Hulkster and Terry Bollea took the bait. The same sort of deal happened with the Macho Man, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Mike Rotundo (aka IRS) and so on but McMahon didn't cry over the spilt milk. He realized that this could indeed be a good thing since younger athletes make better wrestlers. Just look at what he did to Austin. Pure genius!

If Vince McMahon wasn't one of the best CEOs and wrestling commentators out there, he could make a decent living by writing for Days of Our Lives or Sunset Beach or some other soap opera. The storylines he (and his staff) create are nothing short of brilliant. Take the New Hart Foundation. When Bret reconciled with Owen and Davey, the wrestling world was abuzz, and no one wanted to miss what was going to happen with the boys from Canada. This resulted in major ratings. Or take the money being earned from the Austin 3:16 shirts. Or how about bringing back the LOD whom many of the "older" wrestling fans remember? Vince brought in another audience, yet he didn't risk the quality of wrestling brought by the New Generation.

Although Bischoff maybe the better actor of the pair and has the nWo that is really all he has. On the other hand the WWF has the NOD, DOA, New Hart Foundation vs. Austin, Shamrock, ECW, the whole Shawn Michaels and a host of other things to keep the fan interested. On top of this Vince brought in Sunny, Sable and Marlena who by themselves are half the reason most men watch wrestling.

There really is no doubt in my mind that Vince McMahon deserves all the money he has in his wallet. His fresh ideas are what make wrestling interesting and I don't know about you but I'm counting days until the next RAW IS WAR!
