Fanfic by Kai-Yan Lam Part 6 ----------------------------- It was around 6:30 in the morning did Karasu's eyes opened. He saw a large number of people sprawled all over the place. Something was holding onto him. He sees Lola, perfectly healthy and satisfied, sleeping away. Smiling down, Karasu thought he'd just had a nightmare, and watched Lola cuddle up him when he gently stroked her on the cheek with the back of his finger. If Toguro saw Lola now, at this very moment, cuddling away, they would have laughed at Karasu's words of how they defeated the Reikai elite team. Bui had gone into the trouble of bringing the book that Karasu stole yesterday into Kuwabara's house. He wasn't in the mood though. The desire of knowledge was overwhelmed by one of hunger. His tastes were just a bit different than that of Bui. He liked the taste of blood, human blood that is. The Lola clinging onto him was a very big temptation. Karasu looked down uneasily, mind locked in a battle between yes and no. ~I'm not going to take much, just a very small sip...~ and he quickly cut a small cut with a long red fingernail, and pressed his lips to the wound. "YUUCK! ERGHH!" Karasu grimaced and immediately spat it out. That wasn't human blood! That tasted horrifiyingly horrible. And more to his horror, the little cut on the wrist was gone. Ultra healing speed. No wonder she eats so much. Wiping the blood off the corners of the mouth, Karasu decided to stick to human food, for now. He'd better not kill anyone in the house, in order to avoid the S-level power of Urameshi Yuusuke. However, the fridge had nothing to his liking. Sitting back down on the couch again, he took up the book and started reading. Kurama woke up to the usual ‘go to bed early and rise early’ routine. Mr ‘oh-so- perfect’ then decided to cook breakfast for himself. It was 7:00, and he was desperately hoping that Karasu was still asleep outside. He knew Kuwabara's house well, and he made it to the kitchen without having to pass the living room. Unfortunately, Karasu soon heard Kurama fumbling in the kitchen, and he felt his presence as well. Gently pushing Lola away, Karasu went to scare the living daylights out of Kurama. Kurama dropped everything when he saw Karasu leaning casually in the doorway of the kitchen, cutting off his one and only escape route. "What's the matter Kurama? Cat’s got your tongue?" Karasu grinned as he slowly walked towards the devastated Kurama. "What a pity, you have to put up with the food of pathetic humans." Karasu, slowly started walking around Kurama, to intensify the feeling of sheer terror that was enveloping him. "What the hell do you want?" Kurama finally spoke, and it sounded pretty firm much to Karasu's disappointment. "Oh, nothing really. Just what I missed out on in the Ankoku Bujuutsukai... your head, and your life for example." Karasu continued sinisterly. Karasu’s hand was slowly reaching towards Kurama, but suddenly the glass cup on the kitchen bench shattered when a loud cry rang through the whole house. Those wails continued, and more glass shattered along with cracks beginning to run up the walls. Karasu dramatically turned his head towards the door. "What on earth?" Kuwabara shouted as he fell off his bed in his room. Genkai sat up and watched in amazement as Lola, sitting on her couch, blue aura emanating around her, which was wildly forced into all directions with each loud long cry. It was like a child crying after falling over. Karasu shook his head and immediately forgotten about Kurama as he makes the almost impossible journey to reach Lola before getting repelled back by her wild uncontrolled ki. Karasu, now with his green aura emanating, slowly made it into the center, with everyone, now awake watches, amazed. A fallen radio turns itself on to reveal another emergency bulletin. A sudden earthquake has struck Tokyo, so it seems, threatening to bring down the sky scrappers, warning citizens to take extra care and precaution. "What's the matter?" Karasu quietly asked Lola, trying to calm her down. "MY BO'S GONE!" she screamed and another large wail caused Kuwabara's dinner table to split apart. "Where did you put it last. Calm down, control your power, and think." there was a pleading Karasu’s voice. But his answers were just two words: It's gone. There was no way that he could overpower her, and it seemed that even Urameshi Yuusuke couldn't even attempt it. "You can find another weapon." Bui said as he also attempted to calm Lola down. In an instant, he regretted saying anything. Lola gave him this look that she gave the Reikai people the other day. "Another weapon?" she replied in a soft sinister voice. "Do you have any idea, how long it took me to get that bo. All the trouble of waiting and watching. Have you got any idea how important that was to me?" The blue aura then completely vanished, and now, we see the other side of Lola going into deep thinking. She returns to reality by addressing Kuwabara. "Sorry about the house." She mumbled. "I'll get someone to fix it right away," she went on as she grabbed her backpack and made her way towards the exit with Karasu following her. Bui was told to stay, like a hostage, if you'd like to put it that way. "Is she really going to pay for the repairs?" Kuwabara sighed, looking around the place. The roof would fall in any minute, the walls would also cave in. Most of the wooden furniture had exploded into smithereens. "Don't worry Kuwabara. Your place will be fine." Yuusuke replied, pounding Kuwabara's back in. Genkai then pounded Yuusuke's brain in. "You are the most stupid person I've ever seen." she exclaimed to Yuusuke. He turns to her indifferently. "Tell me more. I've had that phrase said to me for years. Can't you come up with something else?" Yuusuke snapped, with some annoyance in his voice. "How long have you known Lola?" she asked. "Two years. Why?" Yuusuke mumbled. Genkai was exasperated. "Two years, and you couldn't tell that she wasn't fully human. Really Yuusuke, have you been knocked so many times in the head that you can't think properly anymore? We all should have noticed last night." Genkai screamed. "Reikai elite team has been chasing a youkai in the human world for the past decade over. They've never been successful, and they were seriously injured from a fight yesterday. The youkai had help." Koenma glanced towards Bui, who simply shrugged. "But that youkai's condition is exactly like Yuusuke's. We're trying to kill it before it completely changes into its original form." Koenma finished. "Whoa, hang on. Are you saying that another powerful youkai a few centuries ago also made his mark in the human world?" Kuwabara said, finally catching on. "And then it will have true 'youki' in due time." Koenma nodded in reply. "And the name of this person is?" Kuwabara asked "Lola." Genkai kindly filled in for him. Kuwabara's jaw again drastically drops. Keiko, who also knew Lola for quite a long time, gasped in amazement. Yukina doesn't get it, and Shizuru's having her daily glass of vodka in the morning. "Impressive Lola, but what are you trying to do?" Karasu asked, a bit bored. They were sitting in a cafe, drinking coffee. Lola was really a different person right now. She somehow managed to fit a laptop into the backpack of hers, and was staring at the screen with a bit of interest. "Switching filthy rich bastards’ accounts into my name. Then, call someone to fix up Kuwabara's house as quickly as possible. After that, I'm going to check where my bo is, and the chain as well. Pity, I never really knew how to use the chain. Did it work for you? I wasn't really observing the battle at that time. There. I'm richer than all those rich bastards now," she smiled and took a large gulp of the coffee. "You know," Karasu said half ignoring Lola’s answer as he examined the rest of the contents that Lola had managed to fit into the backpack. "This isn't exactly human technology." "It isn't. I was working as some of those scrappy fighters on Yomi's side for about a year once. Don't bother about Mukuro or Reizen. They're more interested in fighting. Yomi's city is absolutely massive, and the stuff I get there is just so much more interesting than human stuff." "Working for Yomi. Great, what next? Ruler of Maikai?" Karasu groaned a little but his words somehow tickled Lola's fancy. She giggled a bit, and then packed everything away and paid. "Find some place else to work. People sometimes are a bit suspicious." Lola replied with a smile. "How would you find your bo?" he asked. "He he. I forgot. I left a tracking device on it. I must never lose my laptop. Cos if I did, I’d lose my bo." She explained. "Yes, so much for chucking that massive tantrum," he mumbled. Lola then reverted to her old self. "You're not angry are you?" she asked, almost like a whine. Karasu simply shook his head. Then, we have Lola smiling as usual again, like when he first met her yesterday. Karasu sighed, in disbelief. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
