FABRIZIO

I can see the Statue of Liberty already. (grinning at Jack)
Very small... of course.

JACK

Look at that thing! You would have gone straight to the bottom.

JACK

Ever been to Wisconsin?

ROSE (perplexed)

No.

JACK

Well they have some of the coldest winters around, and I grew up
there, near Chippewa Falls. Once when I was a kid me and my
there were ice-fishing out on Lake Wissota... ice-fishing's
where you chop a hole in the-- ROSE
I know what ice fishing is!

JACK

Sorry. Just... you look like kind of an indoor girl. Anyway, I
went through some thin ice and I'm tellin' ya, water that
cold... like that right down there... it hits you like a
thousand knives all over your body. You can't breath, you can't
think... least not about anything but the pain. Which is why I'm
not looking forward to jumping in after you. But like I said, I
don't see a choice. I guess I'm kinda hoping you'll come back
over the rail and get me off the hook here.

JACK

You're still my best girl Cora

CAPTAIN SMITH

Take her to sea Mr. Murdoch. Let's strech her legs.

ROSE

You have a gift Jack, you do. You see people.

JACK

I see you. ROSE
And? JACK
You wouldn't have jumped.

JACK

I don’t know about you, but I intend to write a strongly worded
letter to the White Star Line about all this.

ROSE to Mr. Andrews

I saw the iceberg and I see it in your eyes

BODINE

We've never heard of a Jack Dawson. There's no record on him.

OLD ROSE

Well, there wouldn't be one would there? I've never talked of
Jack up untill now. Not even to your grandfather. A womens
heart is like a deep ocean full of secrets. But now you know
there was a Jack Dawson and that he saved me, in every way a
person can be saved. I don't even have a picture of him. He
exists know only in my memory.

ROSE

Oh mother. SHUT UP!

Jack (chained to a post, knee deep in water waiting for rose to comeback)

I'll just stay right here!!!!!

ROSE

I'm through being polite god damn-it! Now take me down!

OLD ROSE

Outside I was everything that a well brought up girl should
be.......inside I was screaming

JACK

Rose, your the most amazing, astounding wonderful
girl...women...that I've ever known. I'm not an idiot. I
know how the world works. But I'm too involved now. You
jump, I jump..remember?

JACK

Winning that ticket was the best thing that ever happened to me...
It brought me to you.

JACK

Oh, real slick Cal; Rose, they put it in my pocket.

JACK

You wanna walk through that valley a little faster there?!

CAL

I always win Jack...some way or another, I always win.

JACK

We're going to America! Full house boys!

EVERYONE

ROSE

Don't you get it the water is freezing and there aren't
enoughlifeboats, not enough by half, half the people on this
ship are going to die.

CAL

Not the better half.

CREWMEMBER

Can I please take your name mam.

ROSE

Dawson. Rose Dawson.

ANDREWS

I'm sorry young Rose for not having built you a stronger ship.

JACK

Winning that ticket was the best thing that ever happened to
me. It brought me to you.

STEWARD

You'll have to pay for that, you know. That's White Star
Line property-- JACK AND ROSE
Shutup!

ROSE

Jack; this is where we first met.

ROSE

When the ship docks, I'm getting off with you. JACK
This is Crazy ROSE
I know it is, that's why I trust it.

JACK

Over there on the bed... I mean the couch.

JACK

I'll just wait here!

JACK's Note

JACK

Want to go to a real party?

ROSE

Jack, I want you to draw me like one of your French girls..
wearing this. JACK
Alright. ROSE
Wearing only this...

ROSE

I believe you are blushing, Mr. Big Artiste. I can't imagine
Monsieur Monet blushing. JACK

ROSE

You are so annoying!

ROSE/JACK

You jump, I jump

ROSE

I would rather be his whore than your wife

JACK

Promise me no matter how hopeless, you'll never give up

JACK

You're so stupid, why did you do that?

ROSE

You jump, I jump, right?

JACK

Never Let Go

ROSE

Now they retreat into a cloud of smoke and congratulate each
other on being masters of the universe.

JACK

The moment of truth boys. Somebody’s life’s about to change.

OLD ROSE (V.O.)

The others were gracious and curious about the man who’d saved my
life. But my mother looked at him like an insect. A dangerous
insect which must be squashed quickly.

ROSE

You’re crazy. JACK
That’s what everybody says. But with all due respect, I’m not
the one hanging off the back of a ship.

ROSE

Do you know of Dr. Freud? His ideas about the male preoccupation

with size might be of particular interest to you, Mr. Ismay.

CAL

It is unsinkable. God himself couldn’t sink this ship.

JACK

Well... it’s a big world, and I want to see it all before I go.

You can’t wait around, because you never know what hand you’re
going to get dealt next.

OLD ROSE (V.O.)

I felt like I was standing at a great precipice, with no one to
pull me back, no one who cared... or even noticed.

ISMAY

Captain, the press knows the size of Titanic, let them marvel at
her speed too. We must give them something new to print. And
the maiden voyage of Titanic must make headlines!

ROSE

It’s not up to you to save me, Jack.

FLEET

You can smell ice, you know, when it’s near.

JACK

What I was thinking was... what could have happened to hurt this

girl so much she thought she had no way out.

OLD ROSE

It’s been 84 years... and I can still smell the fresh paint. The

china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in.

MOLLY (as the Iceberg passes by)

Hey, can I get some ice here, please?

ROSE

Oh, Jack... please don’t judge me until you’ve seen my world.

TOMMY

She’s a goddess amongst mortal men, there’s no denyin’. But

she’s in another world, Jackie, forget her.

JACK

That’s one of the great things about Paris. Lots of girls

willing take their clothes off.

RUTH

Of course it’s unfair! We’re women. Our choices are never easy.

ROSE

..even the Titanic wasn’t big enough. Not enough to get away

from them.

JACK

Well, right now my address is the RMS Titanic. After that, I’m

on God’s good humor.

ANDREWS

Sleep soundly, young Rose. I have built you a good ship, strong

and true. She’s all the lifeboat you need.

MOLLY

Remember, the only thing they respect is money, so just act like

you’ve got a lot of it and you’re in the club.

ROSE

Oh, stop it, Mother. You’ll give yourself a nosebleed.

ISMAY (V.O.)

She is the largest moving object ever made by the hand of man in
all history...

JACK (teaching Rose to spit like a man)

Nope, that was pitiful. Here, like this... you hawk it down...
HHHNNNK!... then roll it on your tongue, up to the front, like
thith, then a big breath and PLOOOW!! You see the range on that
thing?

JACK/ROSE

Come Josephine in my flying machine
And it’s up she goes! Up she goes!
In the air she goes. Where? There she goes!
