I am a HUGE Tori Amos fan. In my opinion Tori is one of the greatest singer and song writers of our time and times to come. Her music goes from the quiet music (Winter and China) to the louder sounds such as Professional Widow. Tori has fought for her fame and deserves all of it and more. She is the daughter of a Methodist preacher. She was born with the name of Myra Ellen Amos on August 22, 1963. She has an older brother (9 yrs. older) named Mike and an older sister (7 yrs. older) named Marie.
At the wonderful age of 2 and a 1/2 Tori was playing classical pieces, popular pieces and anything else that caught her fancy. She still, as of today has a great love for music of any type or fashion.
Tori has released three main recordings with plenty of spin off singles. Her true first major (1987) was 'Y Kant Tori Read.' Which was a band that released one record which did not fair well. Atlantic Records decided to give her another chance and that produced the Great'Little Earthquakes' which was released in 1992. From there Tori couldn't be stopped. She released 'Under the Pink' in 1994 and 'Boys for Pele' in 1996. All three releases cover many different times in Tori's life. 'Me and a Gun' is a song that deals with the issue of her rape ordeal.
