Dora Ruiz
She is the greatest person you would ever know. She was born in Louisiana in 1905 and she is my great grandmother. I am her 5th generation and all of us is living except her daughter Dot. My sister and I have children of our own and that makes it her having 6 generations going.
She liveed in Kenner La. all of my and my mothers life in a little house on Iowa St. When I was little she use to call me Shelly cause I would have my friends from down the street to come over and they couln't pronouce my name. So they called me Shelly.
Boy that woman could cook she would start supper around 11 in the morning and it would not be done to 6 or so. She could take a can of peas and make them taste like they came out of her garden.
She was a great woman and I love her so. And I miss her dearly. She is in a nursing home now and has been for now going on 2 years. I moved to Mississippi 9 years ago and since I moved over here I really don't get to see her much any more not like I use to any way.
She was so warming and caring and I miss the hugs and kisses that she use to give. I wish that my kids could be close to her like I was. She will always be in my memories forever.
Now she really doesn't really remember me at all. She is getting old and can't remember anything anymore.
