                    "I Am"

I am a quiet voice, weeping in the wilderness.
I am a lonely sentry, watching in the silentness.
I am a broken promise, breaking hearts and ties.
I am a fading picture, bleeding colors and dyes.
I am a faithless Prayer, waiting in the bitterness.
                                                      1-27-95

          "Quick Change the Channel"

       "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger !"
I don't know any Will Robinson,
        but I could use a "Power Ranger";
for there are dangers 'neath our Sun.

As tenants we threaten this living Earth,
as "makers" we threaten the very air.
We threaten to abort the future's birth,
we threaten to make All lives rare.

For we are children under the sink,
playing in the pretty poisons there.
And unless we will begin to think,
we'll need "Mr. Yuch" or "Smokey Bear"!

Oh Lord, save myself from me,
for as a man I AM responsible.
Oh Lord, give me "eyes" so I will see,
this planet green, is not disposible.

You, God, are the only Alpha and Omega to creation,
keep mankind from being alpha to only desolation!
                                                           2-25-95

                "A Little Christmas Poem"

Once from a quiet little town, called Bethlehem,
an infant's tiny cries filled a whole world.
Angels sang of his Glory, to the shepherds of Bethlehem,
a Saviour born; a wondrous new Covenant unfurled,
a promise to both shake and save the foundering world.

A new Star shone in the night sky o'er Bethlehem,
to light man's way to that Glorious baby's birth.
Sheperds, Wisemen, so many others, came to Bethlehem,
to sense the presence of Holiness come to Earth,
from a special child, of boundless, endless worth.

What a precious Joy came to us from Bethlehem,
a King of kings, a Prince of Peace,
born in a stable, in a place called Bethlehem.
The Light of the world, that will never cease,
a Teacher, whose lessons shall never decrease.

Such a lowly start, for such a glorious end,
beyond our understanding, so much Love to send.
                                                   12-12-95

 "Beside my Ego"

Walk beside me Jesus, Sweet Lord,
for you should not need to carry me.
I must wander of my own accord,
but I need your loving empathy.
I must feel you there beside me.

It is too easy to fotget you,
to become deaf to your calls,
to sense only what I do.
Vanity and pride, and ego's walls,
are easier, without your calls.

Without you there to remind me,
that I am master of nothing,
that I am less than what I see.
For instead of those is something,
something: your Love, everything.

So plese walk beside me each day,
and call to me if I wander away.
I think you only smile at my ego,
still I know, that you'll never go.
                                    4-27-98

  "The Lamb" by: William Blake

Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee;
Gave thee life and bid thee feed,
By the stream and o'er the mead;
Gave thee clothing, wooly bright;
Softest clothing of delight,
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice?
Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?

Little Lamb, I'll tell thee,
Little Lamb, I'll tell thee;
He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb.
He is meek and mild;
He became a little child.
I a child and you a lamb,
We are called by his name.
Little Lamb, God bless thee,
Little Lamb, God bless thee !!

   "JESUS" by: Jason Shulman

The mysterious child,
our mysterious boy,
only he, alone among his friends,
could say the secret words,
that could stop the moon.
He looks up at his Mother:
She was fifteen and blamed no man
for her situation.
She smiled that same smile.
The hanging air spoke to her
from above.
She knew this wordless infant
was teaching her heart to Love.

"Abou Ben Adhem" by: Leigh Hunt

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, like a lily in bloom,
An Angel writing in a book of gold:-
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the presence in the room he said,
"What writest thou?"-- The vision raised it's head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answer'd, "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the Angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerily still; and said, "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men."
The Angel wrote, and vanish'd. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And show'd the names whom Love of God had blest,
And lo ! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest.
